one time I bought a madcatz controller and then two days later it stopped working and my dog died
dear god what the fuck is that monstrosity
Madcatz.
That video is so accurate.
I just returned a controller to Gamestop yesterday because, even though the controller was advertised as "analogue", both of the joysticks were just 4 way hat switches.

Only good 3rd party controller I've ever owned. (Apart from turning itself on if bumped slightly and running down the battery)
I was literally about to buy some random ass third party controller (for playing games on a fucking phone, Modern Combat 5 to be exact, it's a first person shooter, on a phone.) but yeah I think I'll just go get a PS3 controller and use that instead.

That's really more second party than third party, it's licensed by Sony.

Jawdogs for life.
Realistically though, I have a wired Madcatz 360 controller for my computer, shit works like a dream.
I don't think Madcatz makes shitty controllers anymore?
Or at least I know they make really good arcade sticks.

They make good arcade sticks but they make terrible controllers.

I've looked for days looking for alternatives and the only thing I can find are cheam Chinese fakes and awful radioshack-tier-bad ones
then there are gems like the ibuffalo snes controller, and anything first party with a pc adaptor
their rockband stuff is solid too
Never buy third-party shit. I bought a third-party memory card for my Ps2 - It's just one fucking circuit board, and even that doesn't work properly.
We bought two third party game controllers for Smash for like $40. It is nearly impossible to do tilt attacks with them because the springs in the analog stick are so cheaply designed.

4chan can find a way to turn anything into racial stereotypes, can't they?
I bought a second hand wireless Logitech one, thinking that Logitech would be a good choice
I didn't know that some of them suffered from a manufacturers defect where if you held down certain combinations (in my case, right and square) it would trigger another key as well (x).
The analogue stick also only really did 8 directions (left right up down and the midpoints between those) which meant it was useless for absolutely anything.
It seems like xbox is the way to go

50$ for a controller here though.

I bought one wireless 3rd party controller for my PS2. It didn't work, at all. Never bought another one.
I found the exact fucking thing I bought:

Isn't it a thing of beauty?
I remember buying Tracer's Proton Shot gamepad. It wasn't so bad until the gum parts started to melt and buttons kept getting stuck all the time, even to the point the look like they are, but they actually work normally and made me uncomfortable since i didn't know if i actually pressed the button or not.
