Lmao at the end
God his landlord is a cunt. I mean really, I understand if he warned them multiple times but one instance and "No, get out, evicted.". Really just kinda bullshit he's gotta move but at least he's got the money to do it without hassle.
I'm surprised he hasn't gotten himself a modest little house or something
There's about three things Pewdiepie could take this landlord to court over: 1) eviction with no prior warning 2) landlord gaining entry to the property with no previous consent / no valid emergency reason to enter the property 3) landlord kicking them out for blatant homophobia I kinda want Pewdiepie to take the landlord to court to prevent the monumental prick from doing this to other people
I kinda want Pewdiepie to take the landlord to court to prevent the monumental prick from doing this to other people
Lots of YouTubers have been getting sued recently, it's time to turn the tables
I'm surprised he hasn't gotten himself a modest little house or something
it's his office he got kicked out, not his house apperantly.
it's his office he got kicked out, not his house apperantly.
Wouldn't be surprised if he lives in a small/medium apartment, he seems reasonably modest.
it's his office he got kicked out, not his house apperantly.
He's still renting it, and when you rent a property, it's legally "yours". He uses the property as an office but it's technically residential. Hence why landlords / estate agents need to give you 24 hours notice, and if they don't, you can get them in a lot of fucking trouble. Only time they can ever enter your place without notice is if there's an emergency. It's why they recorded the landlord illegally entering the apartment: "I rang twice" is not an alright excuse.

Every single house I've been in has been entered illegally without notice multiple times throughout the year. Unfortunately it's not worth complaining about when you consider that they have £600+ deposit from each tenant.

My first time living in my own place, the estate agents tried pulling that crap on me. I caught them in the act one day when I was off sick and tore them a new one. After that, they politely sent me notices each time. I don't get what the 600 pound deposit has to do with anything, though. That's protected by the deposit protection scheme. Making a fuss about them entering your place illegally would in no way put your deposit at risk. If they tried doing anything like that, they'd just be adding more fuel to the fire.

Legally I know they can't do anything, but either way I wouldn't want to take the risk.
There's a megathread for this.
There's a megathread for this.
For Pewdiepie or gay parties?

Other than that I believe the only time a landlord is legally able to enter the property with notice but without permission is for a viewing if the tenant has already given their notice and is going to be moving out. Tons of letting agencies/landlords are absolutely terrible and they get away with it because people either don't realize they actually have rights. I noticed it's especially bad with student areas because a lot of students are also clueless. I lived as the only non student in a 6 person student house for the last year, and twice we had letting agencies walk into the house with a group of people for a viewing and start going into people's bedrooms with no warning, 1st time with excuse of 'we checked and were told it was ok' and 2nd with 'we dont have your phone numbers'. They went into a girl's bedroom while she was half naked and in a dressing gown and just opened her door, then started giving attitude to my girlfriend when she asked them to leave. The system works great if everyone can come to an agreement, but if there are charges that need to be taken out and the tenant doesn't authorize it, the scheme will keep the money indefinitely until both parties either come to an agreement or they agree to use a 3rd party to decide who is right for them. Then after a few years the money gets sent to charity. It's a step up in the tenant's advantage because before the laws were put in landlords often just kept the deposit, but it can still be a headache if it is abused. A lot of private landlords try to get away with not putting it in the scheme because a lot of people don't know about it, and if they have they usually give you a receipt telling you its in there. It's a double edged sword because if the tenant realizes it isn't in the scheme then the landlord has no choice but to give the entire deposit back, because they would otherwise be forced to pay the deposit back + a lot more if they were taken to court over it.

It was good that shit was being fixed, but fucking hell it is creepy when you realise you really don't have any idea what's going on when you're not around.

Means they usually get to inspect legally and not worry about you saying "No, come another time". I make my estate agents text me to avoid that. I was deep deep asleep and I've never jumped out of bed faster. I thought I'd have to fight off an intruder but it was my landlord (who was flamboyantly homosexual). He got all flustered and apologized and kept touching my shoulder and it was super uncomfortable cause I was shirtless and had that weird adrenaline withdrawal thing. This is the same landlord that kept trying to invite me over to his apartment to give me hot chocolate when I locked myself out in pyjamas in snowy weather.

Seriously take action if you haven't already. That shit is not ok. I know the power landlords have and all the supposed tenants rights can't really do jack shit if you are out on your ass at night in the middle of winter, but there has to be a limit.
Liked that Final Fantasy music at the beginning of the video haha
What the fuck dude did you guys do anything about it? Thats messed up
Ah nah dude, he was one of the best landlords I ever had. Granted he fucked up and entered my place without permission, but he was a really nice guy, albeit a lil creepy. He was harmless tbh and the hot chocolate thing only happened because he was literally my next door neighbour and I was shivering badly (locked myself out and he couldn't get to me for an hour).
I was expecting Pewd to give the landlord a proper flaming in this vid. Have to say I'm a bit disappointed.
I was under the impression Brighton was a very open-minded place and had one of the biggest gay pride festivals in the country, what a strange place to be a homophobic landlord
I've heard similar stories of other people in the UK and their landlords letting themselves in when they thought their tenant wasn't in.
I was under the impression Brighton was a very open-minded place and had one of the biggest gay pride festivals in the country, what a strange place to be a homophobic landlord
You'd be surprised, I've experienced quite a lot of homophobia in nightclubs and from taxi drivers (albeit most of the people doing it were from London).
I was under the impression Brighton was a very open-minded place and had one of the biggest gay pride festivals in the country, what a strange place to be a homophobic landlord
Brighton has its bad areas like every city. In general it is one the most open and accepting places in the country. In my experience, every landlord (and letting agent) uses every trick in the book to treat their tenants like crap. I've lived here for 5 years and it is getting better (or I've been lucky). Every tenant should have 'quiet enjoyment' to their property. It's a very powerful statement and is a massive boost to tenants' rights.
Never really liked PewDiePies content but that was actually kind of funny. Also fuck his landlord, he should take him to court at least for coming in when he thought they weren't in.
