As much as I don't enjoy his videos, I can't fault him for this. I sincerely hope that this goes well.
He's not a bad guy, he's just a really horrible comedian. Charity is charity, as they say.
I'll support this charity through someone else. Or just donate myself.
why do we need this guy to tell us to donate to charity hint: we dont [editline]16th August 2013[/editline] wonder what the underlying motives for this might be
why do we need this guy to tell us to donate to charity hint: we dont [editline]16th August 2013[/editline] wonder what the underlying motives for this might be
are you just finding reasons to be demeaning to this guy this video lacks any fault at all. i mean, what the fuck, he's getting people to donate money to save lives and is donating a fuckton out of his own pocket. also i doubt people would donate as much as they do now without publicity from famous people. [editline]16th August 2013[/editline] "underlying motives" ahaha what the fuck? so it's a big conspiracy to get pewdiepie a lot of money now?
The guy's obnoxious but at least he's using his influence for a good cause

[editline]16th August 2013[/editline]
lmao illl bet you also think that celebrities doing charity work just for publicity is also a bad thing
yes i do lmao
Vedicardi, can you stop being a terrible poster, or at least be one somewhere else? At least learn to use capital letters.
charity is a way for those in a position of power to feel less guilty about this fact without having to put any actual effort in (with a few notable exceptions, of course). if you're going to claim to care about these underprivileged people, throwing money at them is so far from the solution, as history has shown so many times. [editline]16th August 2013[/editline]
Vedicardi, can you stop being a terrible poster, or at least be one somewhere else?
uh oh you got me
yes now go wallow in sadness and self-pity as i have got you
no content reply vs no content reply who will win?
no content reply vs no content reply who will win?
Well, on the matter at hand, even if he is doing it for publicity, at least something good is coming out of it. Everybody who hates him and his terrible attempt at comedy will continue to do so, and on the "publicity" thing, it's fucking Pewdiepie, does he even need good publicity at this point? You're kind of trying to argue that because it's him possibly doing it for good publicity, that he shouldn't do it at all because that makes you feel better. Yeah, sounds great to me.
you can already see in this thread where people put down their guard because of this video. that's the whole point of doing something like this. I don't think you understand how weak his ego is, at that. Just go rewatch the "i'm sorry" video. he obviously cares what people think of him even if "the majority" is on his side. and this has nothing to do about if it makes me feel better, idk how you interpolated that. I am stating what I think is right and what I think is wrong. I think what he is doing is wrong on multiple fronts as I have already stated. that is all there is to it. it has nothing to do with what I "feel"
wonder what the underlying motives for this might be
I'd say if he was doing this just for publicity he would have done it a while ago instead of when he already has more subscribers than a majority of Youtubers, seems rather pointless to try and get publicity now.
im going to put my rationale gently on the floor for this special moment just to agree with you wholeheartedly, vedicardi, i truly do after all its about whats inside the heart that counts.... thank you for reminding me this, man [img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img]
*gives you a kiss* [editline]16th August 2013[/editline]
I'd say if he was doing this just for publicity he would have done it a while ago instead of when he already has more subscribers than a majority of Youtubers, seems rather pointless to try and get publicity now.
that's not quite how publicity works. if that was how it worked kanye west would not being doing press junkets any more and would just release albums

Do you even think about what you write? [editline]16th August 2013[/editline] I mean who cares if he gets publicity out of this, if anything it's going to drive even more of his fans to donate money to charity.
no i have no idea what im writing im wearing a blindfold and again i dont think "donating to charity" is automatically some godly act
Well i think he is scum and hope he gets cancer of the face and dies. But at least this is something good he is doing.
You know, considering he is the most subscribed YouTuber now, it's good that he's using his popularity for worthy causes. Good on him.
no i have no idea what im writing im wearing a blindfold and again i dont think "donating to charity" is automatically some godly act
Even if he was doing it to look good, there's nothing wrong with the actual donation side of it.
Well i think he is scum and hope he gets cancer of the face and dies. But at least this is something good he is doing.
"wow i dont like this guys videos i hope he dies"
"wow i dont like this guys videos i hope he dies"
Nah I just don't like his face, I actually found some of his videos funny. Doesn't give him right to put his stupid face on everyone of them.
Nah I just don't like his face, I actually found some of his videos funny. Doesn't give him right to put his stupid face on everyone of them.
pretty sure it does
pretty sure it does
Then he must die. Or have his face eaten off.
Wow you lot sure are a bundle of fun and joy.
Well i think he is scum and hope he gets cancer of the face and dies. But at least this is something good he is doing.
Fuck I cut myself on those edges. You owe me a goddamn bandaid
no i have no idea what im writing im wearing a blindfold and again I dont think "donating to charity" is automatically some godly act
I can see where you are coming from, but this is youtube celebrity. We're not talking about some dude who robs people of their money. he gets money from providing entertainment. He could easily have not donated to charity at all and kept his money. This is just an attempt to make the people who believe he is some evil sack of shit (because he has a sense of humor that some people don't like) understand that he, well, isn't. Obviously, you can still not like him for his sense of humor or whatever, it's your opinion, but the only reasonable reason he would donate to charity is so people can get along with him. Even if it does in the end get him more revenue and, in turn, more money, he doesn't donate money for the purpose to get MORE money. That's just silly. So really, it's just to shed some good light on him, to to cleanse him of his guilt or anything like that, if he has any.
God damnit my credit card won't let me donate 10$. You evil bastard
