THIS ALARM CANT BE HUSHED
It's nice seeing how we all sometimes get unreasonable mad at electronics, and that we (as an individual) aren't the only ones. I've broken both the legs off my current keyboard from frustration.
Wow it's like a how to basic with buggy eletronics

I have really bad experiences with fire alarms, we had one that would go off once roughly every 2 hours. So we bought another one, went off at random times. Another one, went off because of some smoke from the fireplace(hurray it worked), but the reset button didn't fucking work and wouldn't stop beeping. Fuck fire alarms
my fire alarm goes off every time i cook. every single time
The machines are taking over. Oh god the last 15 seconds are so perfect.
Why didn't he just take out the backup batteries?
Why didn't he just take out the backup batteries?
it involves a screwdriver
at first I thought it was a theft alarm, but then I realized it was just for smoke and carbon monoxide, why would you make the rule not to shut off the alarm manually by the user?
my fire alarm goes off every time i cook. every single time
Your fire alarm is telling you that you suck at cooking.
Why didn't he just take out the backup batteries?
Nest alarms make that tiny bit tricky. Instead of just being a flap, you need a god damn screwdriver. [editline]19th February 2015[/editline] ninja'd
Bop it, Twist it, Pull it, Spin it, Flick it... Throw it in an cooler!•
:v:
I can just imagine when the robots take over there all gonna be walking the streets like "I'm sorry I cannot be hushed here"
What a fucking horrible device. I'd probably end up setting mine one fire, while hearing them go "can't be hushed here" in a low Montatone pitch.
Perfect gift for your enemies

Yea I would just disassemble them and take out the batteries.
These things cost $130 each btw.
These things cost $130 each btw.
Can't be returned here. :^)
These things cost $130 each btw.
And yet a cheap ass $5 smoke alarm I could get at walmart is a hell of a better product. K.I.S.S.
The internet of things: Solving problems you never knew existed by inventing problems worse than you could ever imagine!
These things cost $130 each btw.
Christ how hard can it be to make a working fire alarm for that much money It's not an overly complex thing, even with Nest's networking capabilities
Yea I would just disassemble them and take out the batteries.
The model shown is the 120V model, meaning no batteries They'd be running off reserve power, not idea how long their life is after that, but it stores three AAA batteries in case of power outage, if I'm interpreting this correctly
Christ how hard can it be to make a working fire alarm for that much money It's not an overly complex thing, even with Nest's networking capabilities
Agreed, if you wanted just a simple alert to your phone, I bet you could just take a $5 generic alarm and combine it with maybe $20 of network chips to send a alert to your phone.
instantly came to mind.
Agreed, if you wanted just a simple alert to your phone, I bet you could just take a $5 generic alarm and combine it with maybe $20 of network chips to send a alert to your phone.
That's actually not a bad idea. I'd do it if we didn't already have a working set of (non-Nest) networked fire alarms in the house :v:
i bought a nest protect because it light's up my dark and long hallway that has a light switch only on one end. the nest lights up the hallway when you walk under it.
