Excuse my arrogance, but what exactly is an "alarm gun" that she keeps referring two? Is it a type of gun or is it just using any gun in a certain way?

I suppose it's a gun that fires a powder cartridge with no bullet.
Akin to kid guns that just go bang, but this one looked like a real one I suppose.
I might be wrong though.
Germany really needs to have a 1 chance type policy with refugees, If a refugee wants to stay in a country that they wanted to go to, they need to adapt to the countries cultures and laws, and if they get in trouble with the law, deport them.

That surely means the woman is a fraud, right?
Looks like she is reading of something, also her High German reading sounds forced over her actual accent.
She even looses that "forced" High German reading later on during the video.
Also with a source like this I can't take the video serious.

Have to agree. Anyone can do a talk, with no further proof this means nothing really.

Yea, a german mother wouldn't talk like that about her son being beaten up, sounds like propaganda.

Given the evidence, it wouldn't surprise me one bit. Women can be xenophobes too.
This is ludwigshafen we speak about, ludwigshafen and mannheim have some pretty bad spots that got heavily worse the last year. I live in Mannheim and I don't doubt her story at all. We got police driving around here allday in heavy numbers on patrols and it's only rising.

What's your opinion as a German about these stories? Are they mostly sensationalized or are they actually as common as there made out to be?
Germany really needs to have a 1 chance type policy with refugees, If a refugee wants to stay in a country that they wanted to go to, they need to adapt to the countries cultures and laws, and if they get in trouble with the law, deport them.
Or they can arrest them like everyone else that breaks the law.
Or they can arrest them like everyone else that breaks the law.
Seems a bit backwards, why should the German people have to be responsible for lawbreakers they took in out of pity and sympathy. But I do think that maybe there should be some lenience, not like throw out somebody who littered.
Deportation is more logical than Incarceration. Why spend taxpayer's money on arrested Asylum seekers?
They way I see it is that, if you don't deport them, money will be spent keeping in german and asylum seeking prisoners. If you do, a very similar amount of money will be spent keeping in german prisoners.
Wow, if you -snip- can't play down what happened, you straight up state that the person is lying.
What she said isn't unrealistic at all. I've had experiences with refugees too, not quite as bad but still
A teacher at my school made my art class go to a refugee charity event. I came too, they got free food n stuff. Guess what, one of them stole my jacket.
When my mother wanted to go to east Germany for vacation, she took the bus. While she was waiting for the bus, a man, speaking very broken german, came at my mother with his wife. He was threating her to get off of the bench, so he could sit her with his wife. Luckily a woman from a bakery right next to the bench intervened and helped my mother.
I'm living in a rural area, where things are more tame. She (the woman in the video) lives in a big city with known dangerous ghettos and no go areas, how is what she's saying unrealistic?
There are tons of Youtube channels like this one, while the video headline is dumb, I'm pretty sure that the uploader isn't the person who made this video. Sometimes channels like these upload footage straight from big tv stations like ZDF, ARD or, Das Erste, and give it headlines like "rapefugees culturally enrich Germany". Sure, the headline is dumb, but that doesn't make the content any less true.
If this is true, I was hoping that it would be an ear opener to people about how this a serious issue that needs to be handled with a careful hand.
Then I read the youtube comments.
The Bundesgrenzschutz(border protection police, aka our spy agency) sure is not responsible for weapon control.
The clothes she decribes are also not their uniform so something is wrong there. The Bundespolizei does not wear cameo.
This is what the look like:

The whole thing sounds really like she is reading it from somewhere. In the beginning she speaks like someone who didn't quite learn his text, later she gets her accent mixed.
Something about the story is fishy too.
You don't get your kid in your car for safety and then drive around in your car to find the kids and suddenly draw your concealed alarm pistol.
No wonder people reacted weirdly. Someone probably reported that a dude suddenly drew a gun in the middle of a playground.
She literally argues that he didn't threaten the kids because he didn't aim at the kid and "just" drew the gun to scare them.
Additionaly her husband is on probation.
So most likely this is just a very very one sided story.
The channel it is hosted on is further evidence of this.
Also I've heard FAR too many hoax stories from racist fucks, just look at the fake slander stories

Especially since there is no source at all.
Name-calling against an entire political spectrum.... has its use-cases, but certainly not here, not on Facepunch, and not in this incident.
I don't really care if you have met "refugee-loving leftists" on Facebook or in real life or something, but not only you have to respect people here, but also people calling people "leftists" or "progressives" themselves generally turn out to be far-right xenophobes here, who often get banned in short time. So I'd advise against that.
I agree on everything else.
[editline]3rd April 2016[/editline]
Why would you even read youtube comments
When i referred to "far-lefts" I basically meant all the people who try to downplay the current situation as much as possible. I didn't mean the entire left spectrum, that would be a big majority of everyone on here and and it would be a pretty stupid thing to say. But I see how i worded that really badly, so I removed it.

Considering the fact that the only side most people have seen of this incident are hers and people don't want to jump to conclusions, of course people aren't going to straight up go on her side.
Easy there, cowboy.

But the thing is, some people's reason to not believe her are that it's unrealistic or she's just trying to sow xenophobia, while it's possible, it's still very unlikely since the scenario she described is very possible and I think you should give her the benefit of the doubt.

I think the problem is that it's nearly impossible to find the accused people to hear their side of the story, I'm not sure myself if she's telling the truth. But I think the police has a protocol for all the calls that come in, so I guess it could be checked that way.
She's clearly reading it off something.
So you are arguing that the money that will be spent on potentially tens of thousands of criminals is insignificant?
No money is insignificant. Certainly not prison costs.
It's not like it'll change anyone's lives, is what I'm saying.

Their protocol sure is not luring out suspects with "we bumped your car"
She's clearly reading it off something.
I think she's just looking at the webcam viewpoint on the computer or something like that.
No she's clearly reading it off something in the first few minutes.
How is "she's reading it off something" even an argument? When you make a 10 minute video you obviously do read from notes, good luck trying to remember every detail without any notes when doing a video.
She even does the awkward corrections when she doesn't quite read it right.
Nice. Gates of Vienna is reporting on it too.
