I've seen one of these mass gatherings/migrations of butterflies when I was in middle school They flowed across the road on my way home like a living river Everyone had to drive through them and all the cars pretty much got painted orange with bug guts

I like footage of large insect gatherings such as this. Anyone else see the Planet Earth II mega locust swarm? That shit was insane, and much more terrifying. These butterflies are way more tranquil.

Interesting how something so beautiful, in great numbers, looks like a rather dastardly locust swarm. I mean, yeah, a few hundred of them look cool, but when you see thousands literally swarming in the air, I sort of get the flamethrower vibes.
