I thought this had to do with sharks?
That dog poster.
Her whole room is great: Poster of Giraffe Poster of dog with banana A teddy bear on floor Congo drums and a gameboy color, under desk.
I love this ^^ so much. Oh god I have become addicted to this anime, damn you Eric95 >;( :P
The upside down McDonalds arches was a subtle joke as well, I believe. A lot of animes just flip them over to avoid copyright issues.
i see what you did there
nelly smith is arguably the best character in the series
This episode channelled a lot of Shaft.
This is should be the standard that all animes should be compared against. Will the DVD have extra content?
this has better animation quality than sailor moon crystal
-snip accidental repost-
Iv been waiting forever for this! So glad its out!
The hype is real
This is should be the standard that all animes should be compared against. Will the DVD have extra content?
yes
I'm happy to see the only anime I will ever admit to watching return!
Doki DOKI! [editline]31st October 2014[/editline] The opening scene might be the most profound moment in anime history.
The voice acting is incredible. It's like I'm really in a fan redub.
I said it last thread and I'll say it again
As someone who doesn't watch anime What in the fuck is this
Seriously
I said it last thread and I'll say it again Seriously
So pretty much all the jokes are making fun of terrible terrible anime. All the dudes are drawn like crap because anime artists can't draw dudes thanks to a creepy desire to draw only girls. The opening bit is poking fun of Japan's love of really stupid puns that don't translate to english. Every character is terrible because they're all ripoffs of anime stereotypes, including (but not limited to): Blatant fanservice character that it's totally ok to lust after because age of consent in Japan is 13 Dumb as rocks main character Quiet Bitchy girl Overly Harsh Teacher Girl who just tansfered from ______ (usually China or America, depending on whomever the lead writer wants to disparage) Nerdy guy who's in love with the main character's best friend, is animated better than other guys because he's not a love interest. etc. Opening intro that is way too fucking long and is animated better than the rest of the show No characters that are outside of the main story are drawn to save on animation costs And much more that I don't really give a fuck about.
the guys are drawn like that to make fun of bad "how to draw anime" books I'm pretty sure.
Maybe in part (I was actually being sarcastic on the reason) but I'd say a lot of it has to do with how guys are drawn in girl focused anime. Especially in Boy love crap they're not drawn well to proportion.
-long post -
That feels a bit harsh Honestly we're laughing WITH the anime industry/fans than laughing AT them, although i guess i see how somebody who doesn't like anime could see it differently because we play it all straight. Rahkshi Lord is right about why the guys are drawn badly, we're not trying to criticize anime artists there. And the reason for the length of the opening is that the standard length for openings in anime is 1:30. Literally all anime openings and endings are 1:30, we're not doing it to make fun of anime from a negative perspective The background characters in this episode aren't drawn because it's a tribute to studio SHAFT, an anime studio that uses that kind of thing for stylistic reasons rather than money-saving. In other episodes we draw background characters. And the characters are stereotypical on purpose but I love them Of course you can see Senpai Club however you want, either as something making fun of anime, an affectionate parody, or maybe even a celebration of anime. I just don't want people to think I'm doing this in a mean-spirited way, which is what it'd kind of seem like based on your post. I like anime
Your war on anime has gone too far.
'Teacher-sensei is literally sensei-sensei in japanese why
'Teacher-sensei is literally sensei-sensei in japanese why
that's the joke.
Are people not realizing this is a parody on anime and not meant to be serious?
I like anime
BURN EVERYTHING TO THE GROUND
Is the entire episode going to be a tribute to Shaft?
When are we going to see the dub?
