Thats adorable.
Presentation-wise, this looks great. The music and visuals are stylin', and I love the designs, but those animations are
really bad. Obvious and floaty mo-cap and a lack of effects really sell the rest of the visuals short.
I really hope they fix the animation, because this looks like it could be pretty fun.
Now when you mention it, it really looks odd. It reminds me of VR gameplay videos with 3D avatars; hands and body move around and stuff, but the face is static or with just minor animations.
Interesting idea, but I am not sure how fun it would be. Looks like a cross between stardew valley, viva pinata and a kairosoft game.

If they flesh out the combat it could be good.

That's not even her personal tumblr, you goof.
This song sounds like one an0nymooose would use
Knew music was familiar, it's by the same guy who did soundtrack for Lovely Planet.
I like how shit got real when the yellow one showed up.
"Doublefine"

Don't worry, Tim Schafer has no involvement at all, as far as I know.

Doublefine is owned and controlled by Tim Schafer. 'Double Fine Presents' provides funding for indie games under their moniker so money is involved in some form or another, and depending on what the publishing contract entails they could totally fuck this up for everyone. If Tim's looooong history shaddy business practices is anything to go by I'm not too optimistic, though I really hope I'm wrong as I'm really interested in this game.
Combat looks really out of place in this theme

Dude, they're just publishing the game. They have nothing to do with the game itself.

It wouldnt be the first time they suddenly pulled the funding on a project even after it had released to early access and people had paid for it. They well earned their bad reputation.
Just saying you shouldn't give them the benefit of the doubt and preorder or get an early access version. If the game fully releases and has all the content your paying for already implemented knock your self out.
It isn't just the animations that are simply "what" but how non-expressive everything is (or at the very least, the human characters and pet-sim pets don't seem to change between emotes that often).
Bit surprising for a game like this if that's the case.

Publishing contracts give publishers considerable influence over a game in exchange for large sums of funding, support, and publishing, this can lead to the publishers forcing stupid shit onto a developer and their games to squeeze as much money as possible out of a product that they receive money from sales on. Had this been another publisher with a good track record and a hands off approach I might have agreed with you.

I mean, it's in development.

I'm not faulting it, I think it's hilarious :v:
The dev streams. I've been watching her for awhile now.
Cool to see her game getting big like this.

But Double Fine doesn't do that. They might do weird stuff with their games, but their publishing process is just that, publishing, they just fund and promote the games.

Why do you trust Doublefine so much after they've proven to be as shady as they are.
Besides they'll still profit from the finished product so if one intends to boycott Doublefine they should avoid this game.

Now that'd be just fucking stupid. You'd be denying the developer money because of some hate boner you have for DF even though they're just publishing the game.
I don't trust doublefine as far as I can throw em but a good game is a good game. Going off the trailer I think I'll probably want this.

that is absolutely moronic
the developers are a 2 man team who are pouring their heart and soul into a game they love, and they got extremely lucky to get noticed by a publisher. boycotting games like this doesnt hurt the faceless evil entity that you think double fine is, it hurts indie developers who are trying to get by doing what they love
