I also love the people who say Brutal Force. People need a reality check, they don't know what brutal force is. Have you ever tried to put handcuffs on a guy who did not want to be handcuffed? It's almost impossible for any one person to do. Now take into account all the unknowns that have got 20,000 police officers killed in the last few decades. Yeah I'd slam this guy to the ground too, and anyone else. That is not brutal force. Brutal Force is beating the absolute shit out of someone until they comply, and even that is Okay in most circumstances as long as they're resisting

I think they had already collected enough information from the chatlogs to convict him. It was just a matter of getting the guy to them, and the whole confrontation part is just for the tv show.
It's entrapment, but I think it is only if a police official or something is directly involved.

No, but there's a fine line for entrapment.
Entrapment would be the officer asking the suspect for sex and then arresting him for agreeing with it.
In these cases the suspects ask for sex and the officers play along.
