My brother dumped lava in his wooden house while trying to deposit it into his chest.

Something similar happened to me. I lit my fireplace and watched it for a bit making sure my house didn't catch on fire. After about 20 seconds I left and went into my mines thinking they flames would die out. When I came back the entire house was already burned to nothing. I found out that I had some wood blocks showing in fireplace that the fire could easily jump to.
Godfuckingdammit. You jinxed it OP, My house just burnt down for inexplicable reasons.
It's simple don't make a flint and tinder.

This is why I build my homes out of cobblestone.
That house REALLY looks like mine, except mine didn't burn, but I got six feet under when I was building it and it took me 30 mins to get out of the cave (I only had a stone axe and shovel), this is what you get when you build stuff on the sand
