I mean, it's not a [i]bad[/i] game, but it certainly can't stand up to the likes of Infamous 2, Battlefield 3, Killzone 3, and so on.

Because he didn't put the 13yr wait for the game into the equation. If you compare the development time to other games and the overall quality of the game, it's absolute shit. But comparing it to other modern games it's 'okay'.

TF2 got developed for 8 years and it's still good, and everyone loves it. The problem with this game is that it was overhyped as fuck, not that it has been developed for 13 years. It's just like Spore, it's not a bad game, but the overhype killed it

DNF wasn't developed for 13 years. It was developed for 3 years 4 times.

Then Gearbox stepped in out of sympathy and spent a year trying to make it as best they could from what they had.
I don't know where people are getting at when they say this game has slow load times? On pc I haven't had that issue at all in fact its one of the fastest loading games iv owned?

It was developed for a few years, then completely scrapped. A few more years, completely scrapped. And so on. The version of DNF people are playing has not seen progression through 13 years, it was only being developed for a few years until 3D Realms went down. Gearbox hardly developed the game, they just took the assets 3D Realms had already made and threw them together the best they could.

First of all TF2 didn't have the same hype as DNF, at all, even then it still met my expectations when it came out. Spore [i]would[/i] have been a good game and met the hype, but EA kiddyshit'd it and it turned out to be an overall bad game. Both cases are not what DNF is: a good game in it's own right, but isn't a big boy like Portal 2/Killzone 3/Infamous 2/etc.

On consoles the load times are like 3 minutes per level. If you die, you have to spend another 3 minutes loading the god damn level (I would know because I played it on consoles)

No Spore is pretty bad. I'm not having fun in the space level when suddenly I have to deal with a ridiculous amount of wars by 1 asshole race.

Even if you took away the wait that everyone one endured for DNF, it's still a bad game and was way too different from what made Duke famous. If Episode 3 is similar to Half-Life 2 and Episode 1 and 2, then I doubt people will have a huge problem with it.

I'm pretty sure Gearbox didn't buy the rights to the franchise just to release one heavily anticipated game that caused so much disappointment it could've actually hurt their reputation. The question is whether or not Gearbox knows where DNF went wrong.
I don't know what everybody was on about. I personally enjoyed the game.
I thought it was fantastic and didn't notice any problems
