TF2 become toxic over the years
TF2 become so toxic over the years
It's still really fun.
TF2 become so toxic over the years
Mostly just the community has regressed more into trade servers. I swear naught two years ago I could find plenty of non-trade servers playing things other than ctf_2fort & cp_dustbowl. Now it's just those two and trade_plaza.
some severs are okay but as whole it was better before it became f2p
i did this once on a sniper map, people were pissed at me for no reason
some severs are okay but as whole it was better before it became f2p
Tbh now the only thing i find fun about it in MvM and nine times out of ten that doesn't work.

Now it's just slowly but surely dying. And it's hard to point the finger at something. Valve, Player base, something else?
I just stick with the Valve servers.
some severs are okay but as whole it was better before it became f2p
I remember eageraly awaiting the class updates (before the bullshit Mann-Economy system came into play and fucked everything up and the hat system too), I really miss TF2.
TF2 become so toxic over the years
I finally quit because people will call you a hacker for having literally any amount of skill at all (and the worst part about that is once someone says it in chat, anyone you've killed will join in).

Valve cannot think of a good update unless money is part of it, and a minority of the playerbase are assholes if not hackers.

The old development team leaving and being constantly replaced with new members to this day doesn't exactly help either.
TF2 become so toxic over the years
That's what happens when you make a game F2P. All "player quality control" is gone.
I remember eageraly awaiting the class updates (before the bullshit Mann-Economy system came into play and fucked everything up and the hat system too), I really miss TF2.
yep this so much
I used to play TF2 a lot, but not on random servers. I was in a community of people from Quebec, became a regular. It lasted a bunch of years and, if I remember correctly, it stopped 2 summers ago when the admins and the owners realized that the servers cost too much for the one or two times a month when it was full. We tryied to make a group that would squat empty servers once a week, but that died out too. And that was it for me and TF2. I try every once in a while to come back to the game, but I only find skial and valve servers, not anything with a community, with regulars. What seemed so fun for a thousand hours just seemed meaningless without being in a community .
idk what makes you think a hack (especially stuff like lmaobox that name-changing heavy was using) wouldnt work on valve servers the only thing that matters is if a server is vac enabled, in which case theres about 30-50% chance the hack will be picked up and probably vac ban the player after several days/weeks since detection
No I mean, I don't have to deal with half the cancer because it doesn't have personal admins or some other abusable shit.
I never actually played TF2
even better is typing "lol owned" every time you kill them.
dont worry youre not missing much to begin with
The sad, sad truth for this game. It used to be, i'd say you were missing out on a whole lot and you should definitely get it so we could play. Not anymore.

I think pretty much any FTP monetization scheme, even if it doesn't directly affect the gameplay, just has some sort of aura of cheapness that makes it feel that much less of a game.
I always thought hackers were objectively bad players, but being bad to the point where you lose against a legit sniper even with fucking hacks? Jesus Christ, that's the kind of bad I'd never expect to be mathematically possible.
TF2 become so toxic over the years
Most people are great but I remember getting kicked out of a mvm server for not having enough tours by elitists it's fucking inane lmao [editline]13th October 2015[/editline] the funny thing is, is that I'm an extremely decent medic in mvm

I think I'm done with TF2 now too, all that's really left for me is the Comic series, and even that's taking an odd turn. I think I'm gonna shortly sell off all my items for keys, sell those keys for money, then be done with the whole thing.
I wonder if they plan on dragging it along forever, or starting anew with a TF3
*dies by unusual wearing, australium using scout* "rekt" In seriousness, I really wish the whole microtransaction and hat stuff would've stayed away from TF2 and that the community wasn't so bad now a days, maybe it would've stayed a decently tolerable game

Jesus Christ, that's the kind of bad I'd never expect to be mathematically possible.
Tf2 sniping is more than aim which makes this possible. due to the charge mechanics, reload time, you can time your shot between enemy shots or when they're out of position, and typically hackers are cocky and wont pay attention to these things and so play poorly other than their aim. Beating hackers in games isnt always possible but when it is it's a lot of fun.
I was playing on 2fort a few years ago and I unlocked the huntsman. The other team had several snipers and I started killing them with the huntsman and they got mad and started accusing me of hacking. On an unrelated note, one of my friends joined a server full of furries talking about their OCs and shit. None of them were killing each other. He found a group of them under a bridge and killed them. They then kicked him for "disturbing the nest".
I honestly don't play TF2 anymore, every recent update really makes me depressed. I open it up to see what the update is about, and just get disappointed. I have this pyro avatar only because I still like the characters, still enjoy the SFM's people create. Still need to sell my backpack at some point... I remember back when the war update was new, that stuff was fun as fuck. Everything slowly went downhill since F2P. I can't believe I wasted 7,000 hours in this game and it died like this.
That's what happens when you make a game F2P. All "player quality control" is gone.
Yeah, no. You find assholes anywhere, don't even start pretending the F2P system has anything to do with it.
