There are assholes cops and there are good cops like this guy. You can't tar them all with the same brush - it's a shame videos like this aren't publicised more and given more attention.
"This man must pay a fortune in tailor fees to accommodate for his huge balls."
Couldn't have put it any better.
you can feel how scared and tensed the officer was but he still risked his life to save the woman
Have to admit, I teared up a little when the children ran to him. Sad. Hope he is rewarded for his valor.
Why does he hold his gun gangsta style?
On topic: This guys did an awesome job.

because believe it or not it's not a video game and you can bend your body around so you don't expose your body parts.

Pretty sure it makes the recoil more controllable single handed.

Literally no need to be rude, he was just asking a question.
Bullshit, video is edited.
I'm not hearing any noise from his massive steel balls constantly clanging together.

Tbh the most he'll probably get is the next day off as "personal time" due to the stress of the incident, if he chooses to take it. The other officers involved in the incident could probably do the same.
Wow, adrenaline is an amazing thing. He dragged that woman away like she was nothing.

one of the main things you have to do in the pre-requisite physical fitness test in order to even enter a police academy in california is drag a 165 lb dummy for 30 yards.

It's very efficient in CQB situations. There's also a shooting stance called Center Axis Relock.
Pretty sure it makes the recoil more controllable single handed.
It will carry the recoil to the side making it rather ineffective against a single target.
There is a reason why the police hold their gun pointing at the floor and not as we know it from action movies with their guns in the air.

If you aim from the ground on up at his body, the recoil allows you to keep shooting and still hit vital parts of your target, because the recoil moves your aim from the torso up in the direction of the head.
As posted above it seems to be great for CQB but I doubt it has a big effect on a longer range.

I don't get it.
Not saying this to you, but the cop's performance was great, he saved a woman, assisted some children, stood guard and generally acted according to the protocol I'm sure. That's great.
However, it's not like the cop literally ran head first into a volley of gunfire to save somebody, with bullets going so close to his head he gets a free shave and a haircut.

He's saying that cops in general have such a bad rep these days that people overlook the times like this where they do their job and they do it well.
that's because it's the norm for cops to do good shit like this, and it's less common for them to be the "rotten apples" you hear about.
the "rotten apples" are, however, reported on with so much more intensity on the internet and media, whereas cops simply doing their jobs (outstandingly at that) are not regarded specially (in most cases) that people believe them to be mostly violent and unjust.
it's sad really. i trust and like the police around me. they're nice people doing their jobs.
he obviously did it so he could shoot her later, obviously

lmao who said he ran head first into a "volley of gunfire"
dude did his job and did it well, not like the proximity of the bullets to his face makes him any more or less brave

As I recall, there's something about how reflexively pointing with a handgun uses the same movements as a finger point, which tilts the gun to the side?

He didn't know the situation, he could have taken 5 steps and been shot in the head for all he knew, he still ran in blind to pull someone to safety. He gambled with his own life and luckily he didn't pay the price.

No, he basically did. Responding to any kind of a call is a life or death situation regardless of what kind of a call it is. Cops die every day from filthy criminals shooting them in the face for doing their jobs. Even routine normal shit like traffic stops. "License and registration" and boom, the cop could be dying on the asphalt because someone didn't feel like doing that and instead wanted to commit murder.
And some people wonder why cops act like dicks and be jumpy as hell. It's because they don't know if the person they've just pulled over is going to pull out a gun on a whim and shoot because they have a personal vendetta against officers. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of asshole cops out there who just want to be dicks. But there are others where they're acting that way for a good reason. They don't know who they've pulled over, they don't know who they're going to find when they answer a domestic disturbance call. They don't know if the next window they walk up to is going to have a bullet flying out of it.
He was brave in a way the pizza delivery guy is brave delivering pizzas to unknown people's homes, sure.
He responded to the situation just fine, and did an okay job from what we can gather through his camera.
The officer had a better sense of surroundings anyway than we have looking through the lens, so he probably thought going for the injured woman was safe enough, so he did.

Oh I didn't know that delivering pizzas is a good way to gamble your life.
Is there any info on what the shooting was? Was it the husband or someone in the house?

No joke a lot of pizza delivery people get fucked with. Some have been shot.

Husband wanted custody of the kid, wife was trying to deescalate the situation when he shot her in the ass. He's being held on 3 attempted first degree murder charges right now. There was a news article but i cant seem to find it at the moment.
No joke a lot of pizza delivery people get fucked with. Some have been shot.
would you be so naive to say that a pizza delivery boy's job is on par with a police officer's job, danger-wise? really? hahaha
Oh I didn't know that delivering pizzas is a good way to gamble your life.
Coincidentally we had a rash of muggings specifically targeting pizza delivery drivers here. They always took the same things, their wallets and or any money they had, their car keys, and the pizza.
