i don't enjoy the DYKgamings for consoles since it always feels like they are just reading the wikpedia page for the console
They could have gone more indepth on the Cell processor because that was truly a development hell. There was either a story or a youtube video about it and it showed how impossible it was but also how extremely advanced it was (so advanced that the average developer could not understand how to properly work with it).

They're really lucky that Microsoft blew their load early on with the mass red rings of death due to cheap, rushed out 360s, because without that advantage the PS3 would've been a lot worse off.

Risky? Nah. Basically every single console ever sold ever has been sold at a loss. They make it up in the games, all of which have to go through a lengthy certification process. This is par for the course, and I have no doubt that Sony has piles of analysts and researchers to determine the right numbers for the safest bets
