There is something so weird about pikachu fighting upright in this, I don't know why but it feels so off.
hopefully they don't just fill the roster with bipedals, fighting types, and obligatory charizard

There's still hope

So this is the Pokemon game I always wanted?
Finally.
I want all 3 fully evolved X/Y starters in the game, but if there is any it would probably be just Greninja.

Thank you, I've been looking for the non-shit spanish one.
Also, so happy that they're all fully voiced with their original actors. Hopefully when this comes to the rest of the world you can choose the japanese voices over the shit dubbed ones.
is this a 3d fighter or is it tekken based?
looking at the second video, it's 3d, but it switches to 2d on hitting the opponent in close quarters?
I'm REALLY digging the realistic textures on the pokemon. Every other version of Pokemon has had textures that are basically a solid color, but these ones look like they could almost be real creatures.

this video is literally a recording from dailymotion

I am not a big fan of the free 3rd Person gameplay. I'd wish it was more like Tekken.
I was a big fan of the Dragonball Z Budokai games until Budokai Tenkaichi implemented the same gameplay.

I'm sick of 2D-3D fighters. This makes it feel more like you're watching an episode of the anime and I like it a lot.
At first I wasn't convinced by the 3rd person thing, but this looks like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm which, while not particularly skill based, is hella fun.
Non traditional fighters are pretty rad.
Yeah, this looks like it could be a Naruto Ninja storm or DBZ style full-3d movement type of game which could still be awesome competitively if done right.

Also, here have the entire stream. You'll have to suffer through the annoying guy commentating over the footage though.
What i'm noticing is that whenever a major attack is landed, the game's pausing for a couple seconds seems to be a notice of the camera change, and then it toggles between the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm-style of gameplay, and a more traditional Tekken-like 2D fighter mode. I'm wondering is if this is manually changed or if it's always on major blows, which would get obnoxious really fast for the latter.
WHERE'S MY PLAYABLE HAWLUCHA
I'm seeing a lot of projectile attacks. Do the less energy-based guys like Machamp actually connect physically?
I know I'm not going to see any Mortal Kombat shit here, but what I wouldn't give to see those slowdown freeze frame moments do something like this

but with a Pikachu
I'm seeing a lot of projectile attacks. Do the less energy-based guys like Machamp actually connect physically?
Machamp doesn't appear to have any projectiles. He has a lariat and a giant swing and a giant flurry of punches as a super move instead.
Basically he's Zangief.
One thing I never liked about classic fighters, which also makes me horrible at them, was the restriction to 2 horizontal directions of movement and flat stages with invisible barriers at the sides. Thank goodness this game seems to go with more freedom of movement.
Never really quite got why many fighting games, even to this day, insist on 2-D or 2.5-D movement and completely flat stages. Could somebody tell me why?
Imo it allows for supers/ultras/whatevers to hit easier and allows for faster paced matches so you're not chasing someone around an arena for 20 minutes.
not interested until Snorlax.
whens dunsparce
Gengar and Scyther would make great fighters. Same with Bisharp.
Holding out for a hero

Tenkaichi and Budokai are two different series.
The last two Budokai games were Infinite World and (IIRC) Burst Limit if you want more traditional gameplay.

I think it makes it easier to use the advanced mechanics like juggling, parrying, bounds, and canceling. They're rewarding and fun if you manage to time them correctly.
Wailord or bust
