Is this guy a fucking idiot or is this a joke or something?
why is he so angry? I've never played this game but it is an early access? looks bad ass for an early access
Have the devs decide if they are going to add swords?

Is Medieval Engineers really worth 15 dollars? The reviewer cares only about one thing, is it worth a buy? (Hence the channel name) He's not going to suger-coat anything if it can be bought on steam.
the guy is right an early access game should be polished with nothing wrong and multiple hours of content right off the bat
[sp]no[/sp]
This isn't satire. The game at current offers nothing but a horrendously buggy sandbox. A very very limited physics demo. Instead of reacting to his dislike for the business plan, could you guys instead critique his points directly?

How about if your game isn't done don't charge people money to do something most studios pay people to do.
As this reviewer pointed out, they have a huge team and made millions off of Space Engineers. Early access is ideally to help new companies get the funds to create a game, not to shove out your first build as a wealthy company.

Didn't EA do this with battlefield?
Didn't EA do this with battlefield?
no they've only done limited time betas
I was really excited for this but the more I see about it the more I keep my money away from it. It seems cool but I want more from it. I'll wait to see

They're using it as a platform for their beta, 15 dollars is hardly a massive asking price for future content.

If the dev went belly up tomorrow, would you be ok with what you bought? That's usually my closing argument for my early access coverage. Rarely would I be happy with what I had purchased so far.

Compare this to early titles like Besiege, that offer a much more stable game with far less funding, and far more gameplay. For a third the cost.

Outliers shouldn't set the norm. Besiege is a very cheap game with surprising amounts of content, you can't criticize Medieval Engineers for not being like Besiege, especially when they were in dev at practically the same time.

Besiege should be the absolute bare minimum amount of content you should have finished in your game to justify selling it. If you spend money on any less you're getting ripped off.
Why is anyone complaining? Most games would have a pre-order or pre-purchase. And I guarantee people would by the shit outta of a pre-order ME even without the early access. If the content isn't up to scratch for your liking, sit on it? If it's gonna be anything like SE it'd be very good in the future.

Except it's obvious that a significant portion of the demographic is happy to pay for early access
It's not a perfect system but neither is in-house beta testing. I doubt this is currently a full substitute for in-house beta testing

In-house beta testing worked fantastically for decades, what's wrong with it? And if you must get random people to beta test your game you can always just do it for free considering they're doing your job for you.

It doesn't mean other avenues aren't worth exploring. The fact is that enough people are willing to pay for early access to the game for it to be a viable development strategy. Nobody's forcing you to take part
Does this guy also think that Space Engineers is a cashgrab?
Early access is ideally to help new companies get the funds to create a game
or to get proper feedback from the community, find and fix bugs more easily and make the game go down the path the players want, which is what keen is doing with ME
this is the type of game i'm fine with being early access.
many of the people i know who buy these games get all their fun from making contraptions, and perfecting them. extra gamemodes are neat, but just an addon.
also if someone simplifies their opposition's argument with a nasally voice and something like "UH. UH B-BUT IT'S EARLY ACCESS. B-BUT IT'S AN ALPHA", it instantly makes me lose a lot of respect for them and their opinion
I can't tell if this is satire or the guy just naturally talks like a cunt. Either way the video is hard to watch.
That was terrible. He recommended Space Engineers which is pretty much the same game just in a different setting, but somehow doesn't understand what you're meant to do in this. Creating a new game in a different setting that will allow them to do different things is not a cash grab, either.

When it's being published by a company and it's essentially an overhaul of their previous game, I think there's an argument to be made that this is nowhere near worthy of an early access release. While the tech is impressive, there is almost nothing to do and it really does feel like one of their first builds.

When he reviewed Space Engineers, multiplayer was already in. Survival/Creative modes were relatively polished too. Space Engineers also has the benefit of having a unique setting while Medieval Engineers (in the current state of things) can be replaced by Life is Feudal and you'll get a lot more content plus multiplayer functionality out of it.
That guy has no idea what he is talking about and is being over the top ridiculous. Many of the points he mentions are debatable and it's not like the game is going to stay like this, it's still being developed and the current build is for euthisiastics - that's why it is called early access.

This shouldn't be a defense anymore when we are talking about a product being sold for money.
