You can, but on networks like NBC, ABC and CBS, they generally try to refrain from things like that.

words cannot describe how much I love this man, he's a great dad and a really awesome family man
it's even more uplifting when you realise just how awful his childhood was, with abuse by his father and a whole bunch of other saddening stuff.
