Tasers are only supposed to work for like 5 seconds at most. This could have easily killed him. I know a cop who said getting tased was the most painful experience of his life.

I've been tased before, it hurts like a motherfucker. Basically all your muscles contract so strongly, it makes it hard to breath. Whilst you're being tased, it's the weirdest sensation, being unable to control yourself. You're just sort of in your own mind, confused to fuck as to what's going on.
I'm pretty sure you're meant to pull the electrodes (Or rather the magazine they're shot out from) out to stop the current. It's pretty dangerous to play around with a taser if you don't know how to operate it, although I don't think that's the most reckless thing they did in the video.

You can't die from a handheld taser unless you have preexisting heart issues or a pacemaker, plain and simple, the current simply isn't high enough. At most you'd suffocate from muscle contraction but the battery in the taser doesn't hold a high enough charge to keep it going long enough for you to suffocate.
So really, while this was painful to watch, nothing he did is really life threatening and he probably fully recovered after a couple of hours. The Horse has an extremely high pain tolerance and has been smashing his testicles for years, and still managed to have children.

As far as I know there are some tazers that basically only deliver the charge when you hold the trigger, and keeps delivering as long as you hold it down, so you're the one controlling it. Supposedly that allows the wielder to stop as soon as it's necessary, but in practice it means that a lot of fuckwits basically keep the tazer going for several dozen seconds or throw several bursts in a row which is not only excruciating but also really fucking dangerous.
I remember in France the police had a big issue with tasers because basically some dumb as fuck cops would just hold the trigger for up to thirty seconds on people who were down on the ground pissing themselves. Which is also why the model the police uses in France is equipped with a camera.
