Han Solo: A Smuggler's Trade - A Star Wars Fan Film

ft. really handsome and well-replicated Han Solo
and it's actually really well-produced (if a bit cheesy)

that was really impressive. felt more star wars-y than a lot of force awakens did imo
That's actually a really good Han.
I feel like Disney didn't give a lot of thought when they were casting for that Han spinoff movie, they just cast random up and coming stars instead of actually looking for people that looked like Han, could act like him, etc.. But that's just my two cents.
Pretty impressive, didn't feel all that Star Wars-y but I suppose there's not much you can do on a limited budget.
oh hey it's jamie costa
for a moment i thought it could have been anthony ingruber but that dude disappeared off the face of the planet a few years ago

oh jesus christ is that the guy who plays all the mosnters for Guillermo del toro?
it fucking is!
Doug Jones needs to be in actual Star Wars movies.

Not really, Anthony played young Harrison Ford in The Age of Adaline last year, and voiced The Joker in Telltale's Batman this year. He is doing really well it seems.
he's got the look and the acting chops down but if they could just gruff up his voice a little more...
making a low budget movie start off with a fight scene is a really bad choice imo
The general choreography in this was cringey as fuck

actually this is in that weird uncanny valley of film for me where it's trying to be really well made but it feels sort of chinese-bootleg tier, or high-budget pron tier
could act like him
You haven't even seen on shots from the film yet, I'm not even sure if any have been shot.
How can you judge?
Han Solo ain't got shit on Dash Rendar.

Come on, this guy single-handedly saved Luke from death, destroyed IG-88, beat Boba Fett one on one, wiped out an entire space ship of storm troopers (and that's not even counting the amounts he wiped out before and after all by himself), participated in the battle of Hoth, taking down 3 AT-AT's, fought off an squadron of Tie Fighters by himself, captured plans for the second Death Star, and he even destroyed the Black Sun, the most powerful and infamous crime syndicate of its time in the galaxy.

I think that was him at the beginning of the video, or at least someone wearing the same armour.
Also I think you mean Kyle Katarn

Considering they reference pazaak; the card game from another EU thing KoTOR that guy probably is Dash Rendar.

Side note, Pazaak is canon again, or at least the name of the game is.

Why they gotta arrest kyle katarn tho??
The fight choreography at the beginning reminds me a bit of the cheesier Star Trek fight scenes and I love it.

Jesus christ, the movie hasn't even been filmed yet. How can anyone have an idea of how good the actors are as those characters unless you sat in the audition room yourself.
His acting almost feels too much like the Han Solo from the originals with the mannerisms and phrases. Theres absolutely no room for character development if they start him off as just a young clone (heh) of the guy. He definitely has the looks but I wish he had a little more of his own twist on it to really represent a slightly younger Han
Jamie costa does really great work in general but his Solo is spot on
Can I just say the Chewie costume was really good looking actually
Can I just say the Chewie costume was really good looking actually
It was really weird for me because every time Chewie was on screen I was afraid that the costume would look fake and thus break my immersion. It looked great, but the fact that I kept worrying about it is what actually broke my immersion. :v:
how the hell do people keep getting Doug Jones for fan films?

if you feed him a dead cat he'll do anything for you
Loved every bit of it, even the cheese on top.
Damn that guy nailed Harrison Ford's mannerisms and expressions. If only he could speak like him a bit better, and fix some lines which come out a bit flat and script-like. But still wow, great job.

Remember when Heath Ledger was a bad pick for the joker?
And then he was one of the better ones. it's amazing really.

Well I think the difference is that this is an origin story thing, not a remake with a brand new reinterpretation of the character. With a straight up remake you can have a new actor who doesn't seem to fit the old character, but makes him into a new character that's good in different ways. However, with a prequel, you kind of have to make them fit the old interpretation of the character, at least insofar as to keep a good continuity going. I think you can have a better idea of who would and would not work so well for a character in a prequel than you would with a remake.
