Unfortunately, Wolframalpha doesn't know what to do with "Damage done yearly to American forests by spruce budworm". Yet.
Didn't get it until I saw the video description.
Its amazing that todays computers can do much more then that thing even though this video was made out of pure futuristic optimism.
This is a typical reaction to any new technology. A misconception though is that is has an effect on overall jobs. It does elementarily, but new unrelated jobs that wouldn't have existed previous come into existence.
"...to free the worker" "you can say that again" "what bitch?"

The jobs that come from automation are far less then the ones that are taken away. Sure the creation and maintenance of the machine is a new job but not only is the creation of those machines also being automated but the number of people needed to create and maintain the machines is far less then what was replaced. Basically technological unemployment will change how are world works in a big way.

All that money saved goes into doing whatever the company's real task is, and they hire more people that perform that task. Now, eventually, this may change. When machines can do virtually any non-artistic task, our world will surely change drastically. Hopefully we will be ready for such a world when it comes.

Not to mention there is a limit to how many workers they can put into an area.
