I have the weirdest boner right now.
holy shit that is fucking terrifying
I thought clams did really bad against salt, or is that slugs?
FYI it's not licking the salt up. That little tongue thing is how it moves, the clam is slowly dieing from not being in water and it's trying to find it's way to water, when it's 'tongue' touches the salt it burns it, so it retracts back inside. It then tries it again with the same result. What your watching is the desperate struggles of a clam trying to stay alive. You jerks.
Yeah, just slugs. [editline]9th July 2012[/editline] my automerge
What the fuck
i always found it hard to believe those things are actually alive
How can salt kill clams? They live in saltwater.
It doesn't kill clams, but crystal salt like that is MUCH stronger than salt water. Plus, salt tends to leach moisture, which is why slugs die in it.
oh god i feel horrible now :C
Don't feel bad, it's a clam, it's probably dead now
Don't feel bad, it's a clam, it's probably dead now
That was rather blunt.

Now to find myself a pet clam.
My brain cannot comprehend if this is the best video ever or the creepiest thing I have ever witnessed.
It doesn't kill clams, but crystal salt like that is MUCH stronger than salt water. Think of it as it wants to reach the same salt to water ratio inside and outside of the membrane, and when salt on the outside increase, it causes an imbalance.
Don't feel bad, it's a clam, it's probably dead now
He got turned into some tasty Clam Chowdah for a hungry person to eat.
These creatures are freaking scary...
At first I thought it was funny but then I remembered that clams use that thing to move around :(
that's pretty gross and depressing
He should've put some googly eyes on the top.
