Hey guys, Kit here again. New video series for you! Or, at least, the first episode of one.
This is just a quick guide to what GMod is and how to play, and today's was just the "pilot episode" if you will. Seeing as how comments on my other videos centre around my voice, I decided to twin it with smooth jazz for maximum win.

Yeah, I'm really not sure what's up with that, as my computer is more than capable of running GMod. It only happened when I was recording with Fraps, so the problem lies there. Perhaps I'll make it record in 30, not 60FPS next time, and see if that fixes it.

Haha, while I'm aware that things get a lot more complex in GMod, it's easy to forget that "oh my God I can play with [I]everything[/I]" magic you get when you first use it, and I felt I should capture that in Episode 1. Evidently I succeeded :D
I really like the smooth jazz, sure helps your introduction video.

All right everyone - if you want me to cover a specific Toybox item, let me know what it is so I can pre-download it (to avoid download times in the video) and try it out! Can be maps, entities, weapons...anything you think needs to be smoothly covered! :D
It will take more time than fraps, though you could try using Source recorder to render the video. That last I've heard, GMod doesn't want to render into an actual video file (Though that was a while ago, I'm not sure if Garry fixed it). Instead, you have to export the video as a series of TGA files and have Virtualdub assemble them with the audio. It's an extra step, though you get lagless video every time.
There should be tutorials all over the place, just do a search for GMod source recorder.

That's interesting that you should say that - I did look into the Source Recorder due to the bizarre freezing/skipping issues that occured when trying to a) use the gravity gun on anything, b) unfreezing something with the physgun or c) applying tool gun effects. However, I changed the settings in Fraps so it records in 30fps, not 60 (the publishing process cuts it into 30 anyway). That way, I think Part 2 contains no skipping issues (unless it skips when selecting an item from the spawnmenu, which is something that inherently seems to happen).
