I'm not really sure what to think of this, to be honest. It's really creative, I'll give it that, but it's also a bit hard to follow.
Don't know if I'm sold on George's new direction, still wish him the best. But I will admit I can't wait for his first full size commercial joji album.
oh wow, this actually reminds me the most of his old tracks
New Deus Ex looks rad! Seriously though, this is pretty chill
I mean, as long as he's having fun. I personally don't like the direction he's going and think he's better than this pseudo deep nonsense, but something is egging me like this is almost like a satire on this sorta stuff. Something just ain't right.
Weird, I have the same Hannya half mask, except it's red with gold teeth instead of black. [editline]25th January 2018[/editline] I can't help but go back to the "musical wallpaper" comment someone made on his music, it really just seems there with no real substance or even an attempt to envoke any feelings or emotion. Music to me is another form of emotional communication, and what I'm getting out of this is, "I have no idea what's going on with my life, somebody please help." I'm not saying it to be rude or call him out in any way, but no matter how hard I try to get behind the music, I just can't seem to do it.
tokyo woman almost got possessed and joji almost got shocked cause he was using electronic in shower but since they were on the phone joji got possessed and woman got shocked
His current songs from Joji are adequate, but I really liked the Chloe Burbank Volume 1 era of Joji music the best. I feel that some of the later/recent stuff from Joji has lost that same charm. It's not bad, but certainly not incredible like his early work. As long as he's happy in this new direction of his, though, I say good on him.
Ah now I understand, he's gone from creating low budget live action anime to high budget live action anime
Would've worked a lot better without the fight scenes

I perceive this video as freeform abstract creativity and boundless experimentation where they simply shoved a bunch of shit together, and the outcome was like an enjoyable soup of things regardless of concrete meaning. It seems to resonate with the atmosphere of 90's/early two thousands, and it hits a certain nostalgic note that is nice to experience. Emotionally it may not be fully defined but it resembles looking at a pleasant dream of things. This video is the equivalent of nailing a bunch of shit in gmod and posting about it on a forum to your friends, and the random shit that you nailed together actually ended up being pretty fun. I get the vibe that this video was made with purely benevolent intentions and that they were indeed just having fun and seeing what could happen.

Well, I guess that is how I feel it should be, and I hope I conveyed what I was trying to say there. So, as I've interpreted this video, it seems like he's drowning waiting for this girl who is busy fighting her demons. Simple message for this "pseudo-deep" video, but doesn't everything seem so simple when it isn't happening to you? [sp]I may still be trying to convince myself I like it[/sp]
Joji really likes being in water doesn't he.

Sounds like quiet background music for some TV ad. Boring.
Deep song. I love how joji already has his own signature sound, the soft piano is very pleasant to my ears
Deep song. I love how joji already has his own signature sound, the soft piano is very pleasant to my ears
I wouldn't say this sound is particularly signature... down tempo hip hop beats, "lo fi" (aka low pass everything in the mix). At least he mumble sings instead of mumble raps... I guess.
I thought the intro had some really cool sound design and the vid was certainly colorful. Idk about you guys but I'd much rather he do this stuff than go back to filthy frank. It's not groundbreaking and if I had to pick something I don't like it's the mumble vocals but it doesn't really bother me enough to stop listening. It's something I'd have no problem playing on my own time actually.
Those visuals, while a bit... edgy... are amazing. The colors and lighting are super awesome.
I can't hear the music over all the art intermissions [editline]28th January 2018[/editline] I'm glad joji has the resources to do all the crazy artsy shit that he wants now, even if it's not for me.
Just as everyone else I'm glad he's doing what he wants and enjoying doing so, but I really don't feel like any of his new stuff has any real variation. It all feels the same.
I know everyone is entitled to an opinion and i respect that, but dont you all think its a little weird that as soon as the guy steps out of his boundary of filthy frank and pink guy and does something he actually wants to pursue seriously, some people just immediately hate or reject it? Im not trying to generalize But its like the time he uploaded a video back in 2013 breaking character to talk about all of the real shit hes facing and his health problems, but on a lesser scale. People apparently didnt like that so he went back to FF. Idk, its just seems a little concerning to me that as soon as stepped out of his boundaries, people had a problem with that, like they dislike him for being real
God I miss Filthy Frank. Glad I got to experience the golden age of George, Ian and Max collaborating first-hand. Glad he is doing what makes him happy though, been doing his best for his fans for many years.
all due respect to frank for following his dreams but i just cant enjoy his new stuff, its weird and mumbly
part of me really wants to think he's making fun of modern hip hop but a second part of me sees how he acts in real life without playing a character and it makes me wonder if he's grown out of being a teenager yet
Does he still do stuff with Idubbbz and Maxmoefoe? The last time I'd seen him was on the h3h3 podcast. After that I noticed he mostly has photos of himself with a lot of artists more than anything else.
Dunno if his voice really works with this, I'll bet if he produced for other singers he'd do okay.
I feel like he completely forgot about his video he did on internet rappers.
Believe it or not, there's a world of difference between joji's attitude towards making music and the "soundcloud rapper" stereotype. It's perfectly fine to make rap music that sounds nothing particularly special if that's your true passion or something, but to play yourself up like you're going to become the next <insert famous rapper here>; that's the kind of people joji is making fun of. IMO the video still stands.
