The problem is that people see over-glorified blogs and slap "professional journalism" on them because the writers are paid. We as a society separated tabloids/half-tabloids from actual newspapers ages ago, and some day online video game journalism [I]will[/I] do the same. Polygon and sites like that are a more factual Daily Mail, but please don't compare them to The New York Times just because they get paid.
This stuff would've happened ages ago had gaming magazines give opinion articles space anyhow. Give people a loosely moderated outlet and they'll run with it.

This has to do with a self-proclaimed journalism outlet (primary focus: "video games", supposedly) harassing companies to push their agenda of making people feel bad for playing fucking [I]video games[/I] because "omg america is such a discriminative shithole omg the worst!"
