definitely fake
Once, after I finished drilling a hole, when the drill was off, I dared touching the damn head of the drill. Little did I know it was terribly HOT and left me a terrible terrible burn for weeks even through gloves. So yeah, this guy's chi is not only bulletproof, but also fire-resistant? :v
There are many factors that go into this. Their skin is obviously hardened when they learn to take punches at these specific places, the bone itself hardens, too. I just wish they wouldn't research this stuff halfassed. Take a few x-rays to see their bone structure
Am I missing something or could he have just been pushing back on the drill, on the front handle, and countering the pressure he was putting on the back handle?

It's most likely he did what 99p just posted or the show creators just out right faked it.
I thought this was going to be someone purposely drilling a hole in their head like this guy's about to do (trepanning) [sub]from a movie obviously[/sub]
Maybe they are training to be one day bullet proof. [sp]not like that's gonna happen[/sp] [editline]11th May 2013[/editline]
definitely fake
"That's totally 100% real, you can see the blood, there's blood on the drill.." They're trying to hard
Isn't it something to do with dispersing the force across a larger area of your skin than what the drillbit impacts?
This is like Chinese Jackass or something.
While he is pushing with 50 psi against the drill handle, his other hand could be pushing back just as hard.
I need to get me soma that chi

This isn't all that hard to believe. The power of the mind and body is insane. If you practice those two things for a very long time imagine what you could achieve. Meditation is a very interesting subject and isn't fully understood but there is a quantitative result from meditation.
this is literally impossible
Watch the video I posted, they use spears on their necks too.
this is literally impossible
You just saw it happen right? You saw the charts about the pressure involved right?
I like how at 1:45-2:00 you can hear the Engineer's wrench sound

Didn't he appear on Stan Lee's Superhumans? I remember he was the most unlikely in that show.
It was set to go counter clockwise, which would leave a mark, but not dig in.
While he is pushing with 50 psi against the drill handle, his other hand could be pushing back just as hard.
That or he could just hold the handle really tight. The way they measured the pressure was pretty stupid.
The way they gave him air time on TV was pretty stupid
It was set to go counter clockwise, which would leave a mark, but not dig in.
Though the slowmo sequence at 5:42 shows it's going clockwise.
Monks have way too much spare time.
