That smoke reacting to light, holy shit. I cannot wait for this game.
Looks cool, still not sure is this a MMORPG or something else.
i completely forgot about this game. looks incredible

It's a third person shooter that seems like it's going to do the thing where when you're moving around the world it's gonna be loading other players around you so it's almost like an MMO.
I wonder if it'll look this good after the game is released.

and then it pulls a colonial marines

It's being made by the guys who made World in Conflict and that was an incredibly high quality and extremely well made game so I'm being pretty optimistic about it.
Yeah, I'll believe it when I see footage of the released game

Don't be. Look at Watch Dogs. The first trailers looked amazing, and then every next trailer got slightly worse and worse, and now the final version looks like Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Imagine if they made world in conflict or Ground control running on this
you'd need a bloody super computer

He wasn't talking about just visuals, Colonial Marines didn't just end up looking worse than the original trailer, it also ended up being an awful fucking game.
I want to hype but it will probably be extremely downgraded with a lot of the "dynamic physics" being static shader tricks.

Maybe. I'm sure that this will be really fun to play, but the final version will definitely not look as good as the trailers

you never really know, it could end up looking like that but I'll hold off until I see some actual gameplay footage

There is gameplay footage, the very first E3 reveal trailer was all gameplay footage.

Ignoring that there was gameplay footage, the game is also set to release Q4 2014.
Graphics like this will probably be the norm by then, don't you think?

ohh, cool, could you link it?

Games have barely improved graphics-wise in the last 6 years, I have no reason to think they will next year. The new console generation doesn't reassure me

That's because the first gameplay trailer was PC footage, the rest was console.
Fairly sure the E3 gameplay demo ran on ps4.

What games have you been playing?
Going from Super Mario World to Papers, Please doesn't count

I have no idea why.

Only if you compare Crysis to a modern game, and even then modern games have a LOT more detail than Crysis did. These day having high resolution textures is nothing, its the sheer amount of objects rendered on screen which makes the difference.
The soundtrack at the very start gave me serious World In Conflict vibes, which is a great thing as that game is absolutely superb. I was worried I hadn't heard anything from Massive in years but this looks promising. Good to know its coming to PC.
Despite how gorgeous it looks, there is no way in hell the final game will look like this. Maybe it might on PC though, however Ubisoft is affiliated with it so the PC version will most likely be awful

Going from Crysis to BF4 the graphics really didn't improve much, if at all. (only 5 years, but still)
Going from Crysis to CoD Ghosts the graphics really didn't improve much, if at all. (only 5 years, but still)
That's not really a fair comparison at all.
CoD ghosts is a cheaply made game on a shitty old engine. You saying "the graphics didn't improve much" is only detrimental to the argument that graphics didn't improve.
