Seriously badass trailer. I love the voice actor [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUDCg9bHzVg[/hd]
That's a pretty badass trailer.
What a short man.
Imma break a broom handle off in his ass! show who the real pappa is!
French with rifles and funny hats. (Those are they rifles they actually fired)
I hope it isn't 100% same as Empires total war.

I was hoping they would make Shgoun 2: Total War next. Empire was incredibly disappointing to me, and I went back to Rome and Medieval shortly after it came out. I found the combat to be a step backward for the series; the enormous loading times for both in and out of battles and during turn ending just completely removed the desire to continue playing the game for me.

I really would love a second shogun. I am still disappointed that they are even expanding on this title.
I think a Civil War TW would be pretty interesting with the introduction of Henry Rifles and such. But the further you go on it fades away from the traditional line battle style of TW, so yeah :l
I'm a little surprised that so many people are nay saying this before any proper game play is released. It's not like any of the total war games have been bad in the least, just the later ones may not be loved as the first. I expected this from youtube, but facepunch? I don't know, I'm willing to give this game a shot.
I hope it isn't 100% same as Empires total war.
It's not, the campaign map be will a bigger, more detailed map of Europe only.
this looks dumb i mean who gives a crap about napoleon he was short and angry just like all dwarfs and little people
It's not, the campaign map be will a bigger, more detailed map of Europe only.
Which is basically an expansion.
Napoleon being short was a nasty rumor made by his enemies.

I've had plenty of battles where tactics and strategy were the sole reasons for victory, just like in Medieval and Rome. What a lot of people fail to realize is that they can't just use the same tactics from the last two games. Just like in history you must evolve your military tactics to fit the technologies that are available to you. So yes that means instead of putting archers behind a phalanx formation, you're going to have to switch it up. Maybe use a line infantry unit to pull the enemy into a ambush, and use your sharpshooters to thin their ranks. Just because the tactics you use don't fit the situation, doesn't mean there are no tactics that will work.
NTW will basically do to ETW what the Kingdoms expansion did to MTW2. More, smaller regions, and much much much bigger variety of units. All of the standardised units from ETW are being removed and replaced by faction specific units, even Line Infantry. [editline]01:43PM[/editline] Oh, and I think the last scene in the trailer is the French landing in Britain, burning the HMS Victory.
France's finest hour. Under Italian leadership. Funny, isn't it?
I dunno why people are saying Empire's combat sucked, I loved it, rifles just happened to be shitty and combat was slow back then
lol @ the french burning HMS Victory
if napoleon didn't screw up we'd be speaking french.
if napoleon didn't screw up we'd be speaking french.
I doubt that, like half of Russians in Russia in 1918 either didn't learn Russian as a first language or didn't speak it at all.
