I love the goofy little noise the gun makes. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] Here's how a man does it:

Wasn't there some guy who put a flame thrower on the back of his bike then got arrested or something like that?

Put that shit in the anarchist cookbook.

These types of experiments can end very badly. The older I get the more I realize the stuff I did in the past could potentially have been very dangerous.
This is a really bad idea, especially with gasoline. Most water pistols do not stop suddenly like that, especially as they run out of liquid. If the flames had followed the fume trail he was basically holding a small incendiary bomb in his hand.

As long as the pressure inside the tank is greater than the atmosphere (which it has to be in order to propel the flame), the fire won't enter the tank and cause it to blow up. Not to mention gas as a fluid doesn't burn very well. Its the gas vapours that ignite. Assuming a fire did start inside the tank, as long as it was sealed off from the atmosphere, it wouldn't burn for very long as all the air would be oxidized quickly.

Even professionally made metal flamethrowers are quite dangerous if not used properly. Maybe a fuel like kerosene would be a safer alternative but gasoline is very volatile.
Yes, true, if the pole caught on fire, and was allowed to burn into the plastic, created a hole, then it could be dangerous, but if you just keep an eye out, and blow out any excess flames, it really shouldn't be that unsafe. The nozzle is also very small, so the flames could not travel back inside, unless as states above, the fire burned it open.
The big issue would be people trying to do this with cheap water pistols which often leak, have poor pressure systems, and have non-air tight filling caps. In which case the maker of the video might get some bad press for telling them it is okay/safe.
true ^ i guess the fact that this is done with a "high end ,electronic water pistol" makes it safer than a cheap junk one.
High end ha it's a piece of junk. Makes me want to see someone use one of those massive supersoakers as a flamethrower.
Superior version to all.
disagree ^
Superior version to all.
The whole set up reminds me of the web shooters that spider-man uses.
High end ha it's a piece of junk. But if you have too many fingers I recommend this homemade flamethrower
give me a break there is fuck all pressure nothing is gonna explode, it might catch fire but thats it
Makes me want to see someone use one of those massive supersoakers as a flamethrower.
I used to have a massive double barrel supersoaker unfortunatly, it's broken and I don't think they make them anymore.
I used to have a massive double barrel supersoaker unfortunatly, it's broken and I don't think they make them anymore.
yea, that gun in the video was made by nerf if you can believe it. not a company that id expect to make water guns.
