the hell
Holy shit
nice
I could be wrong, but I think this scene is in the Lego game. I remember reading that somewhere
Tbh I would have preferred more scenes like this that are based on ANH scenes than some of the blatant fanservice copies we got. [editline]14th January 2017[/editline] Not that this is overly subtle.
"hey guys remember that scene in episode 4 where han says chewie can rip your arm right out of your socket"
I don't know if it fits in with the tone of the rest of the scene to be honest, It makes sense that they would cut it if they needed to get the screen time down. But its still a pretty cool reference to Chewies ability and it mirrors Reys past as well.
glad this was deleted, it's pretty useless
"hey guys remember that scene in episode 4 where han says chewie can rip your arm right out of your socket"
Also that time in episode 4 that our young force using protagonist was bullied by a shitbag alien in a shady cantina and got his arm removed.

The look on Rey's face
The look on Rey's face
when he says he likes the prequels
doesn't really fit the scene. while cool, glad it was cut.
Why does he need the bowcaster if he can effortlessly rip off peoples arms? I just imagine him running around pulling off arms.
We'll i'd imagine without a gun he would lose to someone with a gun + range. Now what chewy needs is a gun that launches wookies at people. Then they can get up close and rip his enemies arms off
isn't chewy normally really calm seems pretty overkill

That dialogue was pretty terrible. Like Bioware tier dialogue.
That dialogue was pretty terrible. Like Bioware tier dialogue.
I liked 'half a Wookiee isn't much'.
isn't chewy normally really calm seems pretty overkill
It looked like he was poking Chewie in an arm wound repeatedly judging by the bandages.
well that escalated quickly
Tbh I would have preferred more scenes like this that are based on ANH scenes than some of the blatant fanservice copies we got.
This is a blatant fanservice copy. The whole thing is a reference to the arm dismemberment scene and the quote that Chewie could rip an arm off. It's a cool scene, but it basically just furthers the idea that Episode VII was meant to be a beat-for-beat retread of the original film.

This one at least combines some ideas.
As much as I would like to see Chewie's wookie strength shown this whole scene feels out of place/tone. It's clearly a reference to the ANH scene but a clean cut with a laser sword and tearing an arm off seem like two very different procedures. I can buy the former victim just running away but the latter would probably hurt more and caused more disturbance. Also I don't feel like Unkar did enough to force Chewie to such a brutal thing.

To set the story up for something greater by introducing us to new characters with a familiar story. doesn't anybody remember the very first words in the movie? "This will begin to make things right" the prequels are rightly criticized for a multitude of reasons. One of those being they weren't anything like the originals. i kinda thought this was pretty blatant.

For all we know one of these reasons is why they cut the scene.
Why the hell would he be there? He was some desert bastard living in a metal box with an entire queue of backup workers.
