It's that time again!
I haven't actually seen tfa yet. I want to watch this but I don't at the same time.
I haven't actually seen tfa yet. I want to watch this but I don't at the same time.
It's great, I'd watch it before watching this.
I haven't actually seen tfa yet. I want to watch this but I don't at the same time.
It probably has spoilers, so yea I'd watch the movie first.
God I hope he doesn't tear it to shreds. I love The Force Awakens.
The Video That RLM does [del]not[/del] want you to see.
I haven't actually seen tfa yet. I want to watch this but I don't at the same time.
If you liked transformers, ghostbusters 2016, or are devoid of a musical upbringing then you'll like tfa. Tfa gets worse the more you are experienced with orchestral music and hero's journey/karma story telling. One part of music could had been replaced and it would had solved the problem which sticks out with one major character. If you were fine Bill Muray just getting murdered buy a so called good person in ghostbusters, you'll be fine with this film. (I can give detail to back what I'm saying up, but it goes into spoilers)
If you liked transformers, ghostbusters 2016, or are devoid of a musical upbringing then you'll like tfa.
But TFA isn't terrible.
i'm deeply saddened this wasn't a beatdown of the ages. tfa was so awful it made the prequels look good.
wait what, the movie is almost a year old now, this seems very late
wait what, the movie is almost a year old now, this seems very late
The other Plinkett reviews came out way after Revenge of the Sith
But TFA isn't terrible.
no it's by far not as bad as those two, but logically if you like those two the greater chance you'll enjoy tfa.
no it's by far not as bad as those two, but logically if you like those two the greater chance you'll enjoy tfa.
Not really? I imagine the majority of people would think the movies you mentioned are bad and will like TFA, I don't really see any connection or correlation. They're barely comparable.
The other Plinkett reviews came out way after Revenge of the Sith
but the web wasn't as advanced back then, today it's much easier to produce and distribute content

I didn't really find it that funny like the prequel ones, probably because those films were pretty bad and the observations RLM made where insightful and hilarious at the same time which is what made those so good. Halfway through this its just a weird George Lucas rant with some jokes that aren't that funny
no it's by far not as bad as those two, but logically if you like those two the greater chance you'll enjoy tfa.
I didn't like either of those two but I liked TFA, so...? I mean it wasn't amazing, it didn't totally blow me away and it was just a rehash of things we had already seen with some twists and new protagonists and admittedly it did play it safe, but it wasn't prequel bad by any stretch of the imagination, it was a fun reintroduction to the Star Wars universe and I enjoyed my time with it, I just hope, like Plinkett said, that they actually DO something original with it now.
but the web wasn't as advanced back then, today it's much easier to produce and distribute content
Believe it or not, but it takes a lot of time and work to produce a video that's an hour and 45 minutes long that has a lot well articulated and well written points and criticisms on a lot of things.

I'm 40 minutes in and it's less about the film and more about all the bullshit noise about the pre-film hype and criticizing it. So far at least.
here's a better plinkett review, not made by plinkett or rlm
First time watching a Plinkett review. Loved it[sp]even though I found the Prequel trilogy to be okay movies and back then, I had a minimal amount of exposure with the franchise as a whole.[/sp]
Believe it or not, but it takes a lot of time and work to produce a video that's an hour and 45 minutes long that has a lot well articulated and well written points and criticisms on a lot of things.
totally, but i forgot all about that movie a long time ago, doesn't feel very relevant anymore imo
totally, but i forgot all about that movie a long time ago, doesn't feel very relevant anymore imo
Plinkett reviews were never "relevant", he started doing reviews of Star Trek movies from the 70s and 80s, then did Star Wars reviews long after they were out, they've never done reviews on things that were still completely brand new and fresh.
its about as good as it ever was
totally, but i forgot all about that movie a long time ago, doesn't feel very relevant anymore imo
There's never a wrong time to revisit and discuss a movie (or any other media really).
I like that his main gripe this time was about how the Star Wars franchise has grown and changed into a consumer's nightmare, even more-so than during the prequels. With Disney holding the reigns, how long until the idea of a new star wars movie is as exciting as when they announced the newest, greatest marvel cinematic universe film? [sp]_____AntMan_____[/sp]
pizza phone sex :ohno:
First time watching a Plinkett review.
what the fuck.
Tfa gets worse the more you are experienced with orchestral music
My brother graduated from fucking Oberlin Conservatory and he loves this movie. Stop your pseudo-intellectual bullshit.
