She's American, but she grew up here and thus has a natural English accent (Her American accent is faked, she was picked on as a kid back in America due to her funny accent and so she learned how to hide it and fit in with everyone else so much so that she can switch between both seamlessly). But she's lived here for many years now and has done quiet a few British programmes over the years. Most recently The Fall which I highly recommend though S3 was a bit weak.
