Thought I should post this to see what you guys think of this. (Apparently it was greenlit on steam too.)
Game looks pretty decent, Although the cover art on the steampage is odd. The art direction looks like sonic and it's got the feel of a GBA game.
There doesn't seem to be anything particularly bad about either the design or the execution (except the rather odd title for it), the level design looks alright and there don't appear to be any glaring bugs or issues with the game's physics (except maybe how wallrunning doesn't appear to require any real momentum), but it is just such a completely blatant knockoff of an old Sonic game it's kind of absurd, some of these things look so similar I'm not entirely sure if they didn't rip assets directly from the old games.
Looks decent, but the game mechanics look like they've been mashed together in a bad way. Attacking enemies seems like a pain in the ass when you have sonic-like platforming, and need to stop just to attack an enemy. Maybe the person was bad at the game, but it just doesn't flow well at all.
It doesn't look awful, but so many mechanics are very clearly lifted straight from other games. It doesn't really help that whoever is playing in that video seems to be pretty bad at it.
Reminds me of sonic on sega genesis.
It's like they're trying to get the menu asthetic of an arcade game, the art style of the Sonic GBA games, and the movement physics of a Genesis Sonic game, but with weird slow platforming and having to attack.
That little crack sound when the player gets hit, I am pretty sure it's from Rpgmaker. I could be horribly wrong though.

[editline]9th February 2014[/editline] I recommend watching the video on the greenlight page linked in the OP. This looks like a good game in its own right, despite the glaringly strong inspiration.
It looks like someone combined Sonic 3 and Megaman X. Not bad but the mechanics don't seem to work together. Personally I hope more indie games try to use Megadrive/Neo Geo/SNES style graphics, at least to move away from the trend of faux 8-bit crap.

I do agree though the Genesis style is rather nice, it's a rather overlooked form of retro.

I quite like the art and the backdrops also kinda reminds me of how much I wanted a new Jazz Jackrabbit game
