Well i guess its good for when you have your hands full.
time chamber, go to past
Still think it's damn impressive.
It seems pretty usual.

Kinda but I'd never want to use it, yelling at your TV like a complete twat over and over again until it understands
Its still just a gimmick, using actual buttons would be infinitely faster
He forgets to say Xbox Browse... and thinks it's stupid.
It works perfectly fine for most cases.
It doesn't work most of the times in the video because he kept shouting out commands without the "Xbox [Command]" after the Xbox stops listening for voice input
Yeah the guy doing this is an idiot and just screaming for no reason.
This shows how well it really works.

Hopefully software improvements will make it so you don't have to repeatedly shout like an idiot to get it to understand you.
I thought we were done with that kind of thing with Siri?

The fact he is screaming as you say, and it still doesn't understand him uhh.. kind of reinforces his point. Granted that he didn't say 'xbox' for half of the commands, but there's plenty of cases he did.
I don't want to sound like an Apple fanboy, and Siri is not perfect, but at least you can reword lots of commands and still have her understand you.
The Xbox just goes silent if you do not say commands with exactly the right words...
Aside from the initial novelty factor (which isn't that novel outside of gaming consoles anymore tbh), it seems way, way less comfortable and practical than buttons and shortcuts.

I don't know jack about Apple Products, but didn't Siri give you some sort of "I didn't understand that" feedback when you messed up?

It does do that, but it allows more flexibility before it stops understanding you. You can say "Give me the weather" or "What is today's weather?" and she will interpret it the same way.
On the Xbox One you always have to say "Xbox, open Weather" no matter what

The stricter rules on Xbox One's dialog seem more like a benefit in my opinion. That way, it doesn't confuse normal human conversation with an action you want to get across. Especially considering how the vocal thing is always on as compared to Siri, which is only on when you choose for it to be.
But, to each his own. Maybe they'll come out with an updated system later on that provides more leniency.
Just hearing him say Xbox before everything is really annoying and sounds retarded, would rather use the controller. I'd personally be bored with saying commands within 10 minutes.

From what I've heard, the UI is a pain in the ass to navigate with a controller. It has been entirely designed around voice commands with actual physical interaction shoehorned in as an afterthought.

And IGN also shows just how badly it doesn't work.

I think you just need to learn the commands.
"xbox go home"
Xbox go home, you're drunk
And oh wow "Xbox show my stuff"
ive heard giant bomb talk about how it can't tell the difference between some of the channel names, like ABC, MTV, QVC, TVG, etc. because as soon as you say "TV" or anything close to it, itll think you just meant "watch tv".
and coughing or sneezing still sometimes sets it off to something random. so there's that.
Yells at Xbox to google for porn, doesn't say Xbox before sentence, claims Xbox is stupid

Speak clearly like a normal person and you'll never have that issue.
"Xbox go home" is just so fucking funny to me.

FTFY.
"Xbox Santa isn't real"
I died

The same voice control thing is on Windows 7 and it works perfectly.
