I have a hard time believing that you're actually that dense.
It's a parody mashup of "The Jane Austen Book Club", a popular movie for women from this year, and "Fight Club", a cult classic of the nineties. It's not supposed to be extremely accurate to either story.
Additionally, they have artistic liberty to use whatever other movie elements they want. I actually thought that the kill bill-style character shots worked very well with the tone of the rest of the clip.
Eh I thought it needed to be more gritty like Fight Club.
