this is how everyone sounds in europe and australia sound, though. more accurate than those so called "authentic" accents people have been droning on about.
I thought this was user generated, then I heard the guy at the end.
Was that a scottish accent?
Was that a scottish accent?
South African, actually [editline]31st October 2013[/editline] If you mean the barely understandable guy
Thanks yeah, that guy who said something about slashing a banjo.
South African, actually [editline]31st October 2013[/editline] If you mean the barely understandable guy
[thumb]http://gloaminganddawn.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/district_9_1.png[/thumb] eyy the fuk u meen u khant undastan my cuntre's aksent ehh?? hao abou yeh cam down an lemee giv'ye a peec uve my moind eh
South African, actually [editline]31st October 2013[/editline] If you mean the barely understandable guy
considering the use of the word "chib" I'm pretty sure it was meant to be scottish
considering the use of the word "chib" I'm pretty sure it was meant to be scottish
No, the actual character is south african.
why is he even speaking like that holy shit i cant breathe [editline]30th October 2013[/editline] square goes shitebag
The words(?) he utters do not match up with the subtitles, that's what killed me
I love how he says cunt twice. Did the devs just not pick up on that?
The words(?) he utters do not match up with the subtitles, that's what killed me
It was strange at first but I thought it was just minor inaccuracy due to whoever wrote it going from the script, and the VA doing their own thing. Then the last rant just goes completely off the rails and past the subtitles for a good five seconds.
South African, actually [editline]31st October 2013[/editline] If you mean the barely understandable guy
"Dae ye ken?" means 'Do you know' in Scots. It's Scottish also. fun fact about when he says something about 'slashing you banjo'. don't know if it's what they meant. but that bit of tissue on your dick that connects your foreskin to your dickhead (assuming you're not circumcised) is often referred to as you 'banjo string' in West Scotland.
How dare you diss the voice acting in this game.
I found that Scottish guy hilarious. It was like watching a movie in a language I couldn't understand, so I had to rely on the subtitles which didn't match at all toward the end.
someone said "you know what would make it like really realistic soldiers? if they swore loads" and then they took it way too fuckin far
This comes a close second:
Mate,
this is how everyone sounds in europe and australia sound, though. more accurate than those so called "authentic" accents people have been droning on about.
It's to do with the quality of the voice acting not the accents.
Luckily the voice acting is way better in ArmA 3. [editline]31st October 2013[/editline] I think the devs did this on purpose or were aware of it or something, it just sounds too ridiculous.
[thumb]http://gloaminganddawn.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/district_9_1.png[/thumb] eyy the fuk u meen u khant undastan my cuntre's aksent ehh?? hao abou yeh cam down an lemee giv'ye a peec uve my moind eh
I had a south african maths teacher and all I could think about when he talked was District 9 He pretty much had the same voice.

Was that voice computer generated or something?
Was that voice computer generated or something?
Arma has so many variables in it that the devs recorded samples of individual words, and the game pieces them together to be appropriate, instead of recording thousands of voice lines. In Arma 2 it was hilariously bad, but they've made it a lot better in Arma 3.
I honestly thought this was by some people from /v/ voicing over it.
The scottish voice acting is done by the interviewee in this vid hysterical
Why would they put so many Scottish colloquialisms in and expect people to understand them, jesus christ
this is how everyone sounds in europe sound
what
