I had no idea this was going on. Between this and the CSGO gambling shit, Valve has a massive PR problem brewing.
On the subject of that shitty WAKE UP game, those Blind and Fatfly fellows sound like real psychos.

There's also a case of someone suing Valve for the gambling sites even though they evidently don't want to be affiliated with them and honestly, the dude was played like a fiddle doing stupid shit.

steam greenlight was an incredible series of mistakes and i still can't believe it's being actively used to curate games on steam.
[editline]4th July 2016[/editline]
i'm in awe that this is a true statement somewhere that someone is legitimately trying to push as an actual excuse of their actions

Greenlight is just like Kickstarter.
People shit on it when it lets bad games through but praise it when it lets good games through.
-text -
hm i think i saw this before is it related to this?
http://store.steampowered.com/news/21719/
because i was told it didn't fix it
oh shit I own the same balaclava as jim :v:
I browse greenlight a ton as a consequence of finding it the best place to scout out games and developer teams who might want my skills as a music composer. Honestly, it's the only (and turns out, sort of a decent) way to do this sorta networking for me.
[editline]5th July 2016[/editline]
So I end up contributing to greenlight by voting on tons of games and some of the games I see are really cool but for the most part it's just really shitty, barely started concepts. I don't mind that shitty games are on it though, just that there seems to be no moderation at all.
Jimquisition casually name drops Klace when talking about shitty game developers.
Has he ever talked about Klace before? He's the developer/leader/whatever of that furry visual novel.

This is probably the weirdest association, but the way the text is paced in that game reminds me of Mr. Regular's Gonzo impression and I can't stop reading it in that voice.
it was fixed
Not the same issue, 3rd party server issue not fixed.

Nah, people still shit on greenlight when good games get through, i find. justifiably, too, 'cuz unless valve takes action, greenlight will always be way more broken and abusable than kickstarter.
this is basically blackshell media
theyve pestered me a couple times
this is exactly what they do too

Thing is, Valve sees this as progress, they want to create a platform where "the community curates the games it goes there" without the need for steam to step in. Meanwhile shit like this happens and stains the store.

I'm upset that the title of the game uses a backward slash, where's the jimquisition on this
I don't get it. Time and time again it has been proven that Steam Greenlight needs some additional curation. YOLO Army and their bullshit shenanigans is clear cut proof that the system, as designed, does not work as intended.
Greenlight was a promising idea turned to absolute shit. I remember when it was announced and everyone was really excited and optimistic and then within months it was just terrible.
Even when you look at the good, there is just too much bad

The problem is Valve seems to think that and puts confidence in the Communities ability to govern itself, its been something they've wanted to do with Steam for years, i remember reading a long time before TF2 ever had the Mannconomy and whatever that they eventually wanted to open Steam up as a self curated open platform, this also ties in with how Valve is run internally as well, with no hierarchy, with groups forming internally to do what projects they want, ie nobody wants to sort through this mess.
I think it comes down to nobody at the company wanting to take the responsibility and make an effort because theres more productive things they could be doing like making VR headsets or working on Left 4 Dead 3 or whatever.

Oh hey, the art isn't half bad. Oh wait, it's all stolen. Good job.

Fuck it's still not fixed after all this time
