I saw a few of Markiplier's videos about the DK2, while I don't really watch him usually they were the first videos I saw about the DK2 coming to reviewers and it honestly looks really cool with the head tracking, if its fleshed out a little more it could make for some really intense games with creative puzzles requiring interesting ways of looking around.
As for the visuals, I would assume the 1080p makes a pretty big difference, but until the thing actually releases and I can try it I can't really judge what the experience is like, which really makes watching these videos a little pointless but still cool. I was a little worried about Oculus being bought out, but it really doesn't seem to be affecting the development whatsoever, but I don't know what kind of release schedule before the buyout.
