3:15 Vito?
Oh shit, the White haired guy is Vito.
3:15 Vito?
Lincoln Clay isn’t the most well-adjusted man, but it’s hard to blame him. After returning home from the war, and finding a new family in the “Black mob”, he once again loses it when the Italian mob wipes them out, shoots Clay in the head, and leaves him for dead. And he takes all these anti-hero ingredients and plays the part brutally well, unleashing a rampage of pissed-off vengence that devastates the Italian Mob and creates a power vacuum for organized crime in the city. A space Clay is more than willing to fill.
But there’s a lot of groups vying for power in New Orleans. For all the brutal, unflinching violence he doles out at the end of his army-issued combat knife, he’s actually got a knack for bringing people together. As Clay you’ll be able to bring several gang leaders into your fold to serve as lieutenants in your budding criminal empire. Cassandra and her Haitians, Burke and his Irish, and the protagonist from Mafia 2, Vito Scaletta, who lends his faction of Italians. These three lieutenants will grant you special abilities and unlocks if you show them favor, or bicker and betray if they feel you’re giving away their piece of this new crime pie.
I fucking loved the nod to Casino at the end with House Of The Rising son playing in the background. Nice to see someone remembers that film.
Cool! I've always wanted a game like this set in the late 60's/early 70's time period!
Jesus Christ the racist shitposting I'm seeing everywhere is just insane.
They're complaining that this isn't a Mafia game because it doesn't follow the Italian mob and it seems like you're "fighting the mafia rather than being part of it". Apparently no one has told them that crime families conflict all the time.
I like the setting and Vito being an older dude in it. But I feel the new protag seems a bit bloodthirsty with his usage of a huge army knife. Reminds me of Not Important from Hatred.

Except this guy seems to have a reason to be so blood thirsty, vengeance. As opposed to being edgy for the sake of being edgy.
That thumbnail really reminded me of something I had just seen elsewhere...

All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix, I'm sold.
And House of the Rising Sun. Perfect.
The gameplay seemed a bit more arcade-y, especially with the cars exploding if you ram into them or w/e, but fuck, I'm still pretty hyped for this game.
Yeah the new protag seems a bit over the top compared to the other ones
Oh well
Guessing the main character is half black which could explain the orphanage at the beginning/themes of trying to find a family. Would make sense in a 60s setting (stigma against mixed raced people, etc.).

Seems very over the top, so far a bit bummed on that front.
Still hyped though.
To be fair this protagonist is the one driving the story by seeking revenge and building his own family, whereas Tommy and Vito were pulled into Mafia life and just tried to be successful.
Today is the day the SJWs won, because they forced these poor devs into making their murderous drug/prostitution ring kingpin criminal protagonist black.

Yeah same here. When he jumped out of that car rolling into the other two I wanted to see a dry, violent impact to the sound of clashing car frames - perhaps with some developing smoke. This is something I disliked in just cause 2 as well where every damn car exploded whatever you did

literally the only thing that went through my mind when I saw in the gameplay footage he was stabbing some dude was "how fast this game is going to be called racist" well Hanger 13 dindu nuffin

During the cover shooting part near the end you can hear Rolling Stones - Paint it black. This game has a lot of potential with its licensed music soundtrack, it could even beat vice city.

Yeah, I kinda think Vitos story in Mafia 2 was just perfect for a mafia game; especially when half way through the story [sp]when vito is released from prison and then turns into more of a dead end criminal[/sp] it set the mood a lot well, in this it looks a little as if the guy is a veteran and he comes back to find his friends/family killed by some local mob/mafia and thus decides to just go on a rampage
then again, we havent heard everything about the story, Im not really pumped for this anymore to be honest with you guys :v: I was kinda hoping for a 60's set in Florida with the mobsters down there, or maybe one in California/LA. The whole vet comes back with nothing is just a little overdone in this one it looks.
I'll just wait till more info comes out about the game, then make a proper judgement then though

Pretty disappointed with the gameplay I've seen so far. Seems way too forgiving and arcade, like driving for example. In Mafia II, if you lost control of your car that was it, you'd crash violently and die. Driving full-speed was terrifying. That looked like pacman who blows up everything he touches.
Seems to me they're looking to make some more $$ by making it 'accessible to a wider audience' or something. Same thing happened with GTA IV->V. Not a big fan of this kind of thing. I like my games difficult, and difficulty means more than the speed AI headshots you.

That wasn't the case in Mafia 2 at all. Maybe in Mafia 1, but that was just because that was appropriate to the cars of that era. Mafia 2 had pretty arcadey driving.

Looks great but the cars exploding so much is(hopefully) gonna get changed. Gunplay looked fun.

so far I'm lovin' it, not sure what to think on how they are gonna handle driving especially when hitting cars head on while going fast blows 'em up.
