We <3 Katamari: "Roll 'em Up"

Lyrics:
v1: I am a prince, I got a king
and he wants me to roll up everything
He's super huge, and I'm a little guy
gotta make em big, so I'm gonna try
b: No one wants to get rolled up and I understand
It's kind of scary when you get attacked by
a giant ball!
c: Roll em up, make it big
Take no prisoners, for the king
v2: I roll up a paper clip, I roll up a big blue ship
I roll up your grandma, yeah the one with the bad hip
I roll up the mountains, I roll up the highways
I roll up the islands, yeah theres no delay
(b2)[b, pretty soon I'm gonna roll up the galaxy
and then my king will be so proud of me]
CHORUS: I'm gonna roll the world up
I'm gonna have it in my hands
Don't you see, we need a new galaxy
just give us all your things
and you will see
[c]
v3: I roll up the ocean, I roll up the rainbows
I roll up your neighborhood, closeout sale everything goes
I roll up your family, yeah even the ones below
I roll up your cats and dogs, all the doors and all the windows
[B2]
[CHORUS]x2
END
i feel dirty now
BioShock: "Rapture"

Lyrics:
v1: I was flying in a plane and
now I'm tumbling to the water
Faded black my visions out and
now I'm floating in the water
A: Can you see the flames
in the dark, in the dark the dark the dark...
v2: I see a lighthouse, I'm gonna swim to it
I see a lighthouse, I wonder if someone is in it
I wonder if you can save me
I hope that someone can save me
Theres people in the water...
B: Get into the lighthouse, see if they can save us
There is no one here but I see a way down
Get into the elevator, see if someone lives here
There is no one here but Im going way down
We are underwater, in the City Rapture
Things are going wrong why did I go down
Someone has found me, maybe he can help me
But he needs my help, he's got a trapped family
C: They're deranged, the citizens of rapture
have gone insane
[B]
v3: I've got to save these sisters, they're here to help me
We must bring down they're leader, he's up to no good
BRIDGE: Can You save me-x2, I'm choking on the water
Can You save me-x2, I'm choking on the water
CHORUS-x2: We have to kill the man who brought Rapture down
We must fight our way to drier ground
We have to kill the man who brought Rapture down
We must fight our way to drier ground
At the rate you are pumping these out your bound to fail.
A+ for effort!
need to spend more time on each imo
pro tip: if you can shit these out really fast, don't. spend time on them.
hen you released songs slowly, I listened to your songs a lot. When I used to play minecraft, I thought they were awesome. Now they just seem... rushed.
At the rate you are pumping these out your bound to fail.
Speed is mostly because of my many presets that I'm using, plus when I record vocals, I don't really believe in recording 50 million times until I think it's perfect. I think the first time is just fine. I can't recall which one, but there was a famous jazz musician who was the same way, and it pissed off most of the people who recorded on his records, because they didn't like certain passages they played, or certain solos they did, but he made them keep the first take, because he was a firm believer that the first take is what mattered the most, and was the most real.
what works for some may not work for you. In addition, you are probably using it as an excuse to not put more effort into creating a better piece of music.
it's a little different if someone doesn't like what you've made than someone thinks it could simply sound better (production for example)
Well, I wasn't trying to imply that I was copying his method, but was merely giving an example. I was also definitely not using it as an excuse. I put effort in every piece I make, in fact it comes very naturally. I've been playing piano for 18 years, and a bunch of other instruments for about 13 or so. Doing the instrumentals for all of them are easy, because they are all midi-based recordings, all done through my piano. So, that plus doing the vocals, it honestly doesn't take that long to finish a mix, and to move on to tweaking the audio.
