This video details what has been put inside the controller and notes some of the changes and improvements made over the Xbox360 controller.
the controller looks really rad, regardless of how bad or good the new xbox is.

I hope it is compatible with windows.

It will be, eventually.
I really don't like the look of the new ABXY buttons though.
im probably going to pick up one of these for my compy

I hope it's compatible with Windows 7, not just 8.
Played Forza 5 at Gamescom this year, the controller feels just as awesome in your hand like the 360 controller and the feedback you get on the triggers is just incredible.
Like when you are breaking to hard your triggers start to rumble as a warning your tires might get damaged. It looks big when you first see it but it just slides into your hand so perfectly.
There was a 6-7 hour waiting line by the Playstation 4 so i could not compare it to a PS4 controller. :(

if not, there will probably be unofficial drivers for it
Smaller Deadzone is going to be an issue I can see it already
A problem I've had, and have gone through 4 controllers until I got one that didn't have it, is that the sticks themselves aren't perfectly centered as far as the game is concerned. So the stick in the controller will rest beyond the deadzone, causing things such as moving a milimeter a minute in Battlefield 3, preventing you from deploying your bipod, and shit like that. Another issue I've had with one of the controllers is that the stick will put more input in one direction than the other, so you'll turn left slower than you will right, and having it basically be two different sensitivity levels at the same time will really fuck your FPS experience up
It just better not have these problems
If there is one thing microsoft do well
it's their controllers. they feel so much better than the PS3

Officially supported win7 drivers? Not a chance.
Community supported win7 drivers? I give it a month after release.
its the only next gen controller without some sort of touch interface
Those are some incredible features. It's interesting how it does what the PS4 controller does with it's lightbar, but without the big annoying lightbar.
rumble on the triggers also seems like a good idea
Damn, that's an incredible controller. I thought the triggers were awful after seeing pictures of it but I've changed my mind after this video.
I got my hands on it during Fan Expo this past weekend. The Dpad is very snappy. It feels very small. Although the improvements, I still wouldn't recommend it for pad players in the FGC (in comparison to the older playstation Dpads). However, the D-pad is amazing in all other applications. The face buttons don't require as much of a travel to engage. They feel less rubbery and more similar to clicky shoulder buttons. The trigger movement feels huge, like you're moving across an entire ocean. I guess that grants you more control over its distance; awesome for driving games.
I forgot to mention, I tried it wired in without batteries. It is significantly lighter than a wired 360 controller. Too lightweight for my preference.
I'm still sold on PS4, but I have to admit this controller seems impressive. So I'll probably get one for my PC at some point. :v:

Only with an additional 50 dollar a piece adapter.

it uses usb for the optional wired mode, i'd assume it comes with the usb cable

No need to worry, unofficial drivers will come even before the official ones do and most likely 3-5 days after the Xbone's release.
ps3 had such a shitty weird tiny controller, xbox 360 was so much more natural because it actually formed to the shape of a relaxed hand
Gotta say that this is a mighty fine controller.

Deadzones are hardware first, software second. FPS games have the ability to range the deadzone within reasonable limits to prevent such things from happening, but only down to the accuracy the hardware allows. Their changes to this new controller revision allow for this.

Sony had the game controller concept generally right for about a decade, but it was never perfected, because it was always thought to be perfect already. Whoops.
I think the rumble in the triggers is a cool idea, but I'm slightly worried that more moving parts will make it break easier.
Looks like an excellent PC controller.
Now introducing internal battery and dual capability for wired and wireless mode
welcome to 2006
don't pass the spliff to your buds kinect will pick up on it and call the cops
For comparison:

I guess Microsoft has the better controller here.

at this point i really think it's down to preference
last gen i think the PS3 controller won, with the cheaper price, lack of huge battery pack, mini USB charging (which also made hooking it up to a PC way easier), sixaxis (even though no games used it), and shit.
now it's just down to what system you want, and where you want your thumbs to be.
