I'm so glad I have three ferrets. I get to watch them play like this all the time!
I'd love to have one of these as pets, but then you realise they'd pretty much shit all over the place.
Are packing nuts safe for ferrets to play it? I can imagine them trying to eat it, no?

When mine don't use the litter pan, they either shit in the corner or in front of doors. All you gotta do is clean it up.
I don't even know what ferret turds are like. Is it runny like chicken poop, or pellets like rabbit poop, or large turds like dog poop?

They also seem like an animal that is too smart to leave locked up in the house all day. I'd feel super bad having one as a pet but being busy with uni 24/7 and leaving the poor dude at home.
Ferret turds are pretty nasty. Source from my roommates ferret.

I had ferrets before, they're cunning little cat snakes.

Aren't some packing peanuts made of corn starch?
Long time ago I think my dad had ferrets, they ended up digging tunnels through the insides of his sofa cushions.

Reminds me of when I had 3 ferrets. They made a hole under our couch, so they could hide stuff in there. One of the ferrets was pregnant, broke out of her cage one night and had her babyferrets in that couch. It was a hell to get them all out of there.
I love mine.
He's like a dog almost, I can take him out on walks. I bring him every time I go to any pet store.

They sleep like 18-20 hours a day. If mine is in the cage and I leave, he just goes right to sleep. But if I'm home he'll want out to play.

They're like mini human turds.
They're loud shitters though. I was laying in bed one night, and I heard him going to the bathroom. It sounded like a grown man was taking a loud shit in my bathroom. :suicide:
Are they trainable to ensure they shit where you want them to shit? The thought of waking up to a turd under my pillow is kinda revolting.
Also, do they smell weird?

They'll always go into a corner, no matter that. I keep a litter tray in his cage, and I'll put a little one down in my bathroom when I let him run around my room that he'll always go to. It just depends how early you get them started on this. When you first get them, or if you move them out of their normal surroundings. They'll just find a corner and take a squat right there. My sister used to do the same thing I did, and then when she moved. She'd still let him run around and would put a litter box down for him in the bathroom, but it took him forever to get reacustomed to it. They have a noticeable musk to them, it's some oil they produce for their fur. But it will only be bad if you don't take proper care of them. Make sure they don't roll around in dirt and give them a bath every one or two months. You won't even notice a smell unless you've got your nose in their fur.
Another thing about their smell, is their piss. You have to clean the litter box constantly. (It's best to get those paper pellets that suck it all up, like for rabbits and stuff.) If you leave it unattended for a few days. It'll start to smell real bad.
They're also really picky with food. If you don't feed them different types when they're young, they won't want to eat anything else when they're older.

According to this guy, they're easy to toilet-train and older ferrets will often toilet-train younger ones

can you get this on audio
j-just for laughs, haha
i like ferrets because they look funny
I miss owning ferrets. I cared for 8 of the little fur snakes.
I used to have small bags of screws and washers that they'd take every time I let them out. The last one passed away about 11 years ago and I'm still finding ferret stashes.
Can ferrets be outside/inside pets so I don't have to worry about shit?
Can ferrets be outside/inside pets so I don't have to worry about shit?
Absolutely not. If you let one roam around outside, it'll be gone before you notice. They are indoor pets. They're going to require a decent sized cage and if you don't have two of them. You're going to need to show it a LOT of attention.
I always wondered if ferrets are okay as pets. Always had the idea they aren't meant to be.
-snip-
Anytime I see ferrets I'm reminded of the weird guide on hanging rats from the ceiling to stretch them out into ferrets. Home-made ferrets or something.
