Hey Facepunch
Now I know I'm a tad late but I was a big fan of Oblivion & Morrowind so I wanted to share my personal first gameplay experience with the highly anticipated game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
I hope everyone enjoys, I'm sure the majority of Facepunch have already purchased this game & we'll all have many many hours of fun with it.
One of the main things I've noticed is how amazingly cinematic this game has been so far, It kind of feels like I'm playing through a movie!

I don't mind whatever gender or race you play as ([I]YOU PLAY AS AN ALTMER? I BET YOU'RE A STUCK UP GAY[/I]). Just don't use that "staring at ass" excuse. I'm wearing full Dwemer armor and I'm not looking at the ass of it for some reason.

I don't mind what gender you're playing but don't you try to get immersed? Don't you try to identify with the character you're playing in a game like that? I was always interested in that.
I think this really just comes down to that one thing about playing as a character that looks similar to you, or playing as a character that looks nothing like you.
Some people just won't understand why others play as someone completely different than yourself.

When you make a character that looks nothing like you, you can still identify with it, sort of becoming that character for the time you're playing. Maybe you want to look like that, conscious or subconscious.
When people go "just don't feel like looking at guy's ass" I'm curious whether or not they identify with the character.
I play games for escapism, so I never ever model a character after real-life persons, leave alone myself. Gender doesn't really play a big role. I just look through the customization options, look at a few nice-looking combos and think up little bits of background story for the character, then pick a combo I like.
Sometimes a game dev team really sucks at making one kind of gender look appealing or badass or whatever in any way or shape, which makes the choice easier.

This is always the excuse, and it's ridiculous. Why would you wanna be looking at virtual ass when you could actually be playing the game properly?
I enjoyed your video. I hate spiders too, definitely know where your coming from. And I will take your advice to heart run straight at a sleeping bear, nothing bad can come of it. :eng101:
