Not a real light saber but pretty badass.

A laser pointer that's the size of a flashlight that can light chunks of wood on fire, I'd kill for one.
That's absurdly powerful for such a small thing
I would totally keep one in my house for self defense
until next time, stay safe and happy lasthn
dude seems pretty smart though, I could only imagine this in the hands of a majority of people trying to show it off
I can see this being abused by quite a few people.
The fact that someone can just point this at a location across the street and burn anything remotely scares the shit outta me.
This kid is great, I just recently built a ~400mw green laser pointer following tips from him, and god damn. I can pop balloons from across the room, light matches, cut plastic, and set dark paper on fire. Plus, you can very clearly see the beam in a well lit room

and it'd probably only take a flick past the eyes to blind someone

Thats what I was original thinking you could use them to do alot of Illegal things...

If you think that's scary, you should check out some of the CO2 water cooled laser kits you can buy.
You can melt metal with an invisible beam of light from 100ft away.
Neighbor left tons of garbage all over their yard? Set it on fire from your bedroom window.
......no evidence whatsoever hehehehe

I'm pretty sure those lasers aren't going to be effective at that range, especially since IR lasers have a tendency to spread rather quickly.
how the fuck is that beam visible.
did he edit the video to make it visible? or did he fill the room with smog
EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT 9TH GRADE PHYSICS IS WRONG
A new method of killing house spiders.
My eyes hurt from watching that video, could imagine how bad it could be if I saw the damn thing in person.

With enough output, lasers become visible during various conditions. In this case, his laser happens to be powerful enough to be visible in lit conditions.

It's just so incredibly powerful and bright that it illuminates/reflects off particles in the air, even just plain semi-humid air is enough. Mine has the same sort of effect, but weaker. It's really not that special
now make a laser so powerful that it can turn the ar it touches into plasma.
Mighty curious how he built that thing. Never heard of people building lasers themselves.

I have a laser that can't burn anything and you can see it in a lit room.
