Qlimax is the biggest and thus the most shittiest commercial festival we have here in the Netherlands when it comes to hardstyle and (french) tek and all that jazz.

It has a different theme each year basically. But usually it's some shitty "It's the end of the universe blabla only brennan heart and his elite legion of shitty scantraxx artists can save us now blabla" story.

I've been to qlimax for 3 years now (4th one will be this saturday) And it's getting shittier and shittier.. The anthem this year is a remake of a remake of a remake of Brennan Heart -Face The Enemy, And the lineup is scantraxx plus a few other label artists..
2009 was really shitty, I mean both the anthem, and the stage was fucking bad. This anthem is a remake, so no effort what so ever was put into it, and it also sucks. Hopefully they'll have a cool stage, like they had in 2008. But I doubt it.

No seriously. The effects were mixed between nice and static, the whole thing was over-dramatic, and the plot was something out of a really bad fanfic.

I Kinda liked the 2009 stage, loved it when the Tree started moving :)
But the saddest part is, that Qlimax changed from a dark themed party, to a .. Sci-Fi rip Off party.
And my plans for going when I'm older are forever gone.
Sure, Brennan and Techno Boy are awesome but damn.

I used to listen to Hardstyle a lot a couple of years ago, and I always wanted to go to Qlimax, but I was never really fond of the whole themes they would do and all the costumes they would wear. Now this, this is just ridiculous. Mainstream wise I listened to Showtek, Headhunterz and the Southstylers (Which I don't think any are in that line up?), but there are plenty of smaller artists that have some good tracks.
But again, it's starting to get pretty silly now.
This is how you introduce dance music with a story. Not some retarded trailer.

I know people have different opinion about this sort of music, and yeah I guess you guys are more into rock and all. I am a fan of this type of music, hardstyle mostly, and you don't propably get why I am into this. I like this kind of music because it generally makes me feel happy and energetic inside. You obviously wont understand why, but I mean, some of you propably don't like metal fans either. I don't think I will be making your point of view on this type of music any different with this post, but what I say is that we all have different opinions, so don't think of hardstyle as a bad music, just think of it as not your taste. Qlimax is actually in my opinion one of the most overrated hardstyle events every year, it gets pumped up massively compared to other events that are actually bigger. And yeah the trailer is confusing, but the sci-fi is the theme of this year, there was different themes the years before. Last year the theme was "shamanistic", like the elementals of the earth. Most of this doesn't make sence of course, but who will try to battle this with logic, when the basic reason of this event is of course to listen to the music you like and have a good time. If you have questions about hardstyle or about qlimax or any other events, feel free to ask a hardstyle lover!

I see that you think I am one of those other insane fanboys who are madly saying that everybody else than them is wrong. I do totally agree with all your opinions on this matter. I, as a fan of this music, don't care one bit about the theme, I think it is ridiculous and not needed. I watch the dvds for every year, but I don't look at the themes, I actually skip every middle part between each dj, where they fill in all this nonsense about the planet, that it is all build on music. It's rubbish and I feel like some of these themes are killing this music style as it is. But again Qlimax is the worst and overhyped event in my opinion.
