They got some cool looking stormtrooper designs in this.
This'll be leagues more interesting than the retread that was TFA.
Plus there'll be less of the nostalgia angle to it.

honestly i think that the force awakens is just a "hey you nerds can trust us, now let us do new ideas in the universe"
Star Wars Force Awakens was weak sauce pandering.
I have watched people slowly realize how mediocre it truly was overtime, just flat out astonishes me that it took people so long.

I really hope this is good
how do people become extras in movies
i want to be an extra
Rewatching TFA I can honestly barely see that many parallels to A New Hope.

Nope, everyone I know still loves it.
People who hate TFA just make me fucking laugh.........i mean go watch the Prequels then bitch about how bad TFA is, it could have been far far worse, the only issue i had with it was it did go a little far into nostalgia without pushing the boat too much....it played a safe bet, to make a film that everyone will know and it will do well.........now they've done that they can really go to town.

well it depends on where you live but just type in " movie extra where you live "

This entire movie is banking on the nostalgia angle though??

I don't know, seems to me like the overall opinion seems to be that it was a good return to the franchise but played it too safe.
This entire movie is banking on the nostalgia angle though??
There still is, but it'll more/less be fresh considering it was never mentioned save for a couple lines in the original movie (Yes it was covered in writing, but never made it into wide mainstream culture).
As we won't have to deal with the (IMO) hamfisted "Member Chewbacca? Member R2D2?" crap from TFA.

I'm not trying to be some contrarian over here, but the Prequels aren't nearly as bad as everyone says they are. At least they did something original, took chances, and opened the gate to some of the best parts of Star Wars, including the Clone Wars TV show which is inherently better than TFA
we already had Jan Ors and Kyle Katarn get the death star plans. why do we need to make a movie of it? we already know the outcome. i mean spoilers ahead but fucking alderaan blows up and then the death star 1 & 2 blow up. do we need a prequel for everything

They're not canon anymore.
Also not everyone reads the books or plays the games.

They literally mentioned that this entire film is basically just half of a sentence from Episode IV's introduction. That's the point. The Star Wars universe is so rich, and this was a key moment in the Rebel Alliance. It was almost immediately after this, after all, that they went from a tiny group of near-useless terrorists to the force that blew up the Death Star and a symbol of hope for the galaxy.

Exactly! The prequels, while admittedly bad movies, opened up the Star Wars universe to a lot of new and unique ideas. Even the battlefields themselves looked more interesting, with the whole Clones + Jedi vs. Droids thing... the sequels will have what, Stormtroopers vs. Rebels? Sounds familiar...

The Clone Wars era makes for better video games than the OT era. The Republic and the CIS were evenly matched throwing infinite amounts of clones and machines at each other on so many planets. That's so much more fitting for a Battlefront game than Rebels vs Stormtroopers when 90% of the time, Rebels only did small guerrilla ops.
I would love a Star Wars game that was basically just Arma 3's ALiVE mod, but Star Wars.
This could only really work with the Galactic Civil War though.
I would love to start burning supply caches and rebel huts like it's Stalingrad also.

Clones were given enough personality to make them interesting enough (at least with Clone Wars cartoon, which is still canon, but that may not be up your alley.)
Also I'm a big fan of the CIS droid armies, and ideally I would imagine they could have interesting personalities that would make for good stories. Shame there's barely anything of that (closest I heard was a UK's tie-in magazine to TCW giving the droids their own comic stories on multiple occasions.)

I've finished TCW. It was really good (barring Jar-Jar/most padme episodes) but at the end of the day the clones were still built for one literal purpose. And that doesn't scratch nearly the same itch as a group of freedom fighters versus an empire and those loyal to it.

Well they have a cartoon for that as well
TFA made a mockery of the entire OT. Luke is a loser. Han is a loser. Leia is an enigma. Who gave the First Order the right to exist? What the fuck is up with their third Death Star being an entire planet? They left out all worldbuilding in favor of mirroring ANH. Fuck Disney I'll only give them my netflix bucks. Also imagine if instead of doing Tattooine 2 they went with the junkyard planet.
Who gave the First Order the right to exist?
i dunno, who gave the Islamic State the right to exist? or North Korea? or Nazi Germany? or even the United States?

They left all the world building to the Novels/comics/side material.

You think you do but you don't. It sucks. Hours upon hours of standing around in uncomfortable costumes just to film a couple of minutes of footage you probably won't even be visible in.
But basically, get an agent.

Yep, a while ago. It's interesting to see the process at first but you get treated like shit, because you're just walking scenery to the crew.
