THE ENEMY IS JAMMING OUR RADAR!
Over an animated singer? Wow. That's pretty fucking insane. Then again, its Japan.
Who would pay to go to that?
Is that thing on a screen or is it a robot? It looks way to real to be either one.
:psyduck:
It sounds scary as shit!

even I was late when posting a couple months ago
it's on a screen hair doesn't flow like that.
Oh god i actually like this song. My favorite one, but really its the only one i like.
For some reason, the guy who was holding a giant leek shaped glow stick in the crowd make me laugh
So many men got raging boners that night

Holograms huh? Pretty cool.
Just Be Friends is fucking great.
The one in that particular video is Luka Megurine, though, not Miku Hatsune.
Is this the future or what
We already have the technology for live Gorillaz concerts. Vocaloid already has a massive following. It only makes sense.

it's basically a hologram

By the way Vocaloids are making their offical US debut in LA next month
it will probably become mainstream in the US shortly after and hip hop artists will rape vocaloid tech to the point where it isn't awesome anymore (same with autotune).

It's basically like any other concert.
i don't see the problem here.

You best not be pulling my leg. I actually have a reason to look forward to something in the genre of hip hop now.

No, it's more like going to a stage theater vs. going to a cinema, where a real concert would be the theater, and the divide would be the human element.
Looks like a multi-projector system shining onto a gauze.
watch what will happen when it BSODs

BSOD holograms! :gonk:

it's a guess, it's not fact
Is her voice supposed to sound robotic? Because it sounds kinda bad
well yea, it's computer generated.
As far as I gather it also strongly depends on how skilled the person behind the controls are, as poorly strung together phonemes could sound very artifical.
This concert is what first turned me onto vocaloid music.
I now have 180 something songs, take that as you will.
And as for them sounding robotic, BmB is right, it depends on how skilled you are, and sometimes how robotic you want them to sound.
Also, US vocaloids are a joke. You can't understand them without subtitles even when they're speaking english.
The only bad side about vocaloids so far is the Fanbase that takes the anime representation of the characters too far and the people who make horrid utaloids (Basically Un-offical third party Vocaloids)
The only bad side about vocaloids so far is the Fanbase that takes the anime representation of the characters too far
Agreed. The Vocaloids are effectively just instruments given representative avatars to better display what they are. It's an awesome tool for indie musicians, but the fetishizing of the avatars make it seem much stranger than it should be.

The concept of an unofficial third-party Vocaloid isn't bad in itself, but to my understanding the sampling process requires hours of high quality voice acting using very expensive sound recording equipment that would make it impractical/impossible to make a decent 'utaloid.'
Am I the only person who heard "hanjo banjo?"
1:09.
It sounds just like it.
I'm more of a Gorillaz man myself.
Though there is something delightfully dystopian about japan and it's obsession with fake people.

It is rather interesting, isn't it?
The only real bother I have with these Vocaloids are the sleeves/cuffs which cut off at the upper arm or before the shoulders. I don't get why you would wear something like that.
