Very possibly late, although don't see why it would have been posted on Facepunch. Any budding music producer like myself will find this video pretty incredible, and to think Liam did all of this before Ableton and the effects plugins used in the video even existed.
Holy shit this is some other kind of talent. Just goes to show how better electronica is than dubstep.
dude, dubstep is a subgenre of electronica
dude, dubstep is a subgenre of electronica
A terribly lazy one, at that. Also, before you recommend me one of "the best" let me tell you I've listened to them already and their music was no different.
I really miss the old Prodigy. The latest stuff is pretty dreadful.
Liam did all of this before DAW's even existed.
lol
Holy shit this is some other kind of talent. Just goes to show how better electronica is than dubstep.
Just as much work goes into making a dubstep track as any other EDM genre, what an ignorant statement lol Edit: Disagree with me if you want, but I've spent enough time producing electro/house and DnB to know that no genre is particularly easier or harder to make. But hey, it's fashionable to hate on dubstep right now, especially on Facepunch
lol
I agree that was an uneducated statement, consider it revised.
This video really does a good job of showing the amount of meticulous effort put into electronic music production; too often i've heard people say "electronic music is easy to make! you dont even have to learn any instruments!", and even use this as a justification for claiming that ALL forms of electronic music are bad. It's ridiculous.
A terribly lazy one, at that. Also, before you recommend me one of "the best" let me tell you I've listened to them already and their music was no different.
Wait wait wait, slow down here people.... This man has, apparently, listened to Every single dubstep track ever made. Woah. ...Or you're full of shit, and generalizing off a few select examples you've heard.

Every time I bring my mug onto the subject of Dubstep, Some guy brings up a selection of "the best" artists in the genre. Every time it's a mixed bag of songs, and every single one of them is the same damn thing. The theme varies for each one.
That is most likely brostep that's being shown to you, not the real sub-bass of real dub.
Really? That is exactly what every last one of them says about the former. Calling the lesser ones "BroStep". I guess you could show me your collection of "the best" now.
Wow, this guy has an amazing ear for samples.
Really? That is exactly what every last one of them says about the former. Calling the lesser ones "BroStep". I guess you could show me your collection of "the best" now.
Here, have some good "quiet" dub. [editline].[/editline] Of course not all "Brostep" is bad either. Nero, for example, is quite good.
Trying to link someone examples from a genre that someone doesn't like; even if they're highly acclaimed examples, doesn't really work. The person has to understand and appreciate the qualities of the genre first, which comes down not only knowledge, but personal taste. It's like trying to shove a work of art into someone's face, and expecting them to instantaneously understand, appreciate, and like it simply because it's well done. For the sake of the discussion, I personally understand the qualities of dubstep and know there exist good artists and bands. I don't care for the sound, though.
Yes I am? Every time I bring my mug onto the subject of Dubstep, Some guy brings up a selection of "the best" artists in the genre. And again, you're still generalizing. There are literal thousands of songs, and countless artists that fall into the genre. Just hearing a few might represent the aesthetics and sound of the genre, but it doesn't represent the quality of the genre as a whole.
Of course not all "Brostep" is bad either. Nero, for example, is quite good.
Nero are not Brostep... Also this entire fucking thread doesn't have to be a giant genre war. Just like what you want and shut the fuck up.
How do you even come up with something like this. Listening to a bunch of songs and thinking "I bet if I slow/speed these up and mix them together it would sound good" I mean with Ableton and stuff you can just fuck about and see what sounds good but back then it must have been harder
That was actually pretty awesome, how he showed the process and everything.
I thought that they use a glitcher addon i ableton live or something to a rather easy beat. Then they just do some simple tweaks and there you have dubstep. Well, thats what I did, and it sounded like this: http://www.thatvideosite.com/v/5594
I can't believe there's an argument about dub-step in a thread regarding The Prodigy. Lame. This is great. Liam is a genius.

As an ableton user this is pretty fucking creative and impressive

Ugh, those digital sounds are terrible, and those sounds reminiscent of crashes are placed very abruptly.

Gah, so many constant repeats that skipping some parts of the video sound no different from each other.

This one, however sounds kinda good, but alas is not dubstep, let alone brostep.
electronic music it's in every pop music
This one, however sounds kinda good, but alas is not dubstep
Bullshit
Bullshit
It's quite clearly electro house. [editline]27th October 2012[/editline]
Ugh, those digital sounds are terrible, and those sounds reminiscent of crashes are placed very abruptly.
You're listening through a computer, all sounds are digital sounds.
You're listening through a computer, all sounds are digital sounds.
Very funny, but it's still all senseless noise with no rhythm.
I hope he does more prodigy songs in the future. I'm a huge fan of Prodigy, The Prodigy Experience was my favorite album. I miss good old 90's electronica.
Such a beautiful art
Very funny, but it's still all senseless noise with no rhythm.
If you're not a fan of electronic music then leave the thread. [editline]27th October 2012[/editline] also nero is house music
also nero is house music
This made me rage so hard.
