Holy shit, yes, this is what I want, on top of the new vegas remake :joy:
I hate when gameplay videos have that forced cinematic movement. Otherwise this looks great.

This is going to result in an FO4 engine version of Tale of Two Wastelands and it's going to be glorious
Looks cool, only problem I have with it is that the R91 assault rifle sound is pretty bad. Hope it's just a placeholder or something.
Somebody needs to get in there and remake FO3/NV's vision of Ghouls rather than the melted piss candles we got in FO4.

FO4's ghouls look better.
Can't wait till this comes out, just the fact there's proper lighting makes the whole subway system feel so much more atmospheric, I can't wait to pummel raider faces with nice pretty lighting.
Do any of these remake projects ever get completed before a new engine comes out?
i get a warm fuzzy feeling seeing my mod being included in this
FO4's ghouls look better.
I think they act better, but they do look like
melted piss candles
That's not to say I think FO3/NV's feral ghouls looked great, but FO4 ferals look wrinkly/goopy rather than burnt/rotting. I think FO4 ferals would be better if the same pseudo-random character generation that raiders have (but set to generate ghouls only) was applied to the AI/skeleton/clothing that ferals currently have.
Yeah I know I'm probably part of the only 10 people who think this but I prefer the artstyle of the enemies in 3 and new vegas compared to 4. It just has that horror aspect to it that fits with the type of game it is.
That sequence had better pacing and flow then it had any right to be.
Hoping this is just a sign of good things and not a sign of them "perfecting" this specific area and scene; leaving everything else un-started.

Yeah I remember Yao Guai being terrifying in 3 and being absolutely disappointing in 4, they may have been a little tough to fight in 4 but they were just regular bears.
In 3 the Yao Guai were legitimate abominations; giant white eyes, human torso, grotesque arms.., Turning around and seeing one of those things running at you was always an "oh shit" moment; no matter what level you were.
I hate when gameplay videos have that forced cinematic movement. Otherwise this looks great.
I have literally tried to recreate this shit and I end hating myself and also completely unable to keep it smooth.
I want to know if they're using a trackball or something.

And then there's Fallout 4's.

I miss the time when ghouls looked like their skeletons were visible, Interplay and Black Isle Studios…
I always felt like beth should've just had a list of enemies that were excluded from combat music.
It feels odd to fight a pack of ferals in a dank subway and have action music kick in.
Also holy shit it's probably because it's been so long but half of those combat songs for Fallout 3 inon zur made sound like they were just leftovers from Crysis - they use the same instrument samples and everything.
Compare 8:58 to something like 1:08
Or this one at 0:37 with the horns especially

They're using a controller aren't they? The quick weapon selection had 4 point, like a D-Pad, and the movement speed seemed like it could only be done via a controller

Lower your sensitivity + use a very big mousepad + make a big sweeping motion with your mouse
could be a pad too
For a "Pre-Alpha" this looks pretty damn playable. I assume most of the work will have to be setting up the scripting for quests?

Could be that this is the only fully playable segment right now.

It's a rule of thumb to use a gamepad for presentation videos, let's the viewer focus easier with the consistent movement.
I think the artstyle in F4 was sort of meant to be a callback to the original games, sort of 80% realistic 20% stylized, I think I heard the faces for characters were designed to be like the talking heads.

Reminds me of the toy story "x, x everywhere" meme template

For most things maybe, but I feel like the feral ghouls in 3/NV looked more like the ghoul talking heads in 1/2 than 3's patchwork NPCS or 4's burn/desiccation victims. While on the subject, it's also always bothered me that NPC ghouls and monster feral ghouls use different models/animations. If you couldn't tell the difference until you tried to talk to them, I think that'd make them much scarier, and the other NPCs hatred of all ghouls more understandable.

"heeeyyy nicko, it's time to-a steal some nu-clear warheads"
i'm just glad the N99 isn't the fuckhuge massive chunk of metal that it is in fallout 4

the behemoth still has the absurdly large fire hydrant club :v:

Honestly looks waaaay better than i had dared hope. It lends a small bit of credence to my opinion that Fo3 is a better game than 4. I don't know how they're gonna handle leveling systems. Just use 4s' system? I hope not...
Woah this looks great.

Seeing this and honestly I'm not even interested. I actually think FO3 and NV look better as they are, there's something about the FO4 graphics in this world that makes it look far less appealing.

Please no.
I started playing F4 about a month ago, and I totally get now why people hate the leveling and ability system.
