something like that kinda happened to my copy of f-zero, i put the cart in, it booteed up, but the tiles where all messed up, and when you started a race all the tales where wall tiles so you couldnt move.

my personal favourite
Cartage tilting works, because the control data structure (which includes the game engine) is loaded into cached RAM before start-up, and when you tilt the cartage you are fucking with the data that is being read such as sounds, sprites, level data, etc.
i'm working on a weed edition where i fuck with various roms and add 420 to every 9001th byte. will post soon.
