God damn the udder that is being used to milk this series even harder must be drier than an old woman's vagina
Screw the cyncism, SRIV was fun for me, and this looks like a great holiday expansion.

I like how anything that gets released for saints row now gets barraged by MILKINGGGG. Doesn't matter if it's level packs, clothing items or anything, it's always the same. No no, don't complain about the technical issues the game has, don't complain about the similarities of SR3 to SR4 (similarities present in SR1 to SR2 I might add), don't complain about just generally flawed mechanics like the cars feeling like paperweights or superpowers making everything else useless, complain when they release a clothing or a level pack.
Like there's a bunch of issues with the games but you keep harping on "wahh dlc I don't have to buy."
Saints Row 6?
Woah where the hell have I been
Ha, they fixed the title

Honestly I feel like Saints Row is dead to me now. I absolutely loved 2. 3 was mediocre but acceptable. 4 was a MadTV skit.
The problem was that everyone focused on wackiness. They completely forgot about having a dark counterbalance. So in SR3 they decided to make things wackier, and completely screw up progression by having zero build up to establishing the saints in Steelport. You essentially do one mission and the saints are instantly a presence in Steelport. Then they decided that more is always better and increased the wackiness yet again with super powers and the matrix. I am utterly baffled as to why they did this because all it does it make the sandbox feel even more pointless, and almost every mission has some arbitrary reason why you can't use super powers.

It was dead to me when everything felt like "been there done that" from the copy pasting of literally everything from 3 I knew it was going to be a stinker
The powers would have been more exciting if they weren't in 3 already and weren't completely shit to use, seriously they are the least satisfying weapons in a game ever, the engine is too shit to make it feel like you have any impact at all, like jumping off a huge tower and slamming into the ground with huge force results in a bin falling over, a street light breaking and a tiny decal on the floor which vanishes in 5 seconds
TL;DR just play SR2 or Prototype
that goddamn Die Hard reference

I think they could have done a lot better with 4 if they didn't just seemingly add new skins, and if they changed the fucking map maybe then it would have been a bit better, rather than adding some alien towers. I also hate the fact that they added you as being the president when the only decision you make is to cure cancer or world hunger, like why would they even add you as president when you don't do shit as president. saints row 4 was very disappointing to say the least.
The DLC was pretty funny. Some of the new maps were very pretty, and as always it was genuinely funny. You get a couple of new weapons, including an actual projectile rifle (instead of hitscan,) a music Dubstep gun, and The North Pole. You also get about a dozen new vehicles including a mechanical reindeer and Santa's sleigh. I'd recommend it.

I am staggered by how many terrible decisions they made in this. It's almost as if they were trying to break their own game.
-People like making an impact in things so lets make it all just a simulation so it has no impact at all.
-One of the appeals to crime sandboxes is car chases and escapes, so lets add super powers that void all vehicles and render and chase elements pointless.
-People don't like arbitrary restrictions so on every 4th or 5th mission lets restrict them from using super powers.
-People like customizing and personalizing their character so at the end of the game lets just put them into a dull grey boring suit of power armor.
I could go on for hours about this.
im digging the die hard reference.
